The Unwanteds is a book set in Quill, a dystopian world. Every year the 13-year olds are sorted. The strongest and intelligent Wanteds are sent to the university, while the creative and imaginative Unwanteds are killed. Everyone expects Alex to be sent to his death and his twin Aaron to be sent to the university, and their predictions almost come true. Aaron is deemed a Wanted, and Alex an Unwanted. However when Alex and the other kids are ushered into the gates of their death camp, they find that they are not to be put to death at all, but instead join another world where all the Unwanteds take refugee. They have formed a secret school, and learn how to increase their talents and learn magic. However Alex is determined to let Aaron know he is alive, and he wants to bring his brother over away from the cruelty of Quill. Will Alex fit into his new home? Will he keep his bond strong with Aaron? Will the good magic be able to reign over evil? I absolutely love this book! There were twists and turns, and so many surprises! I recommend this book to middle grade ages and up. Probably the best minimum age is 11 or 12, since there are many action scenes, with some violence. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The Dragonet Prophecy is set in a world where the seven dragon tribes in the story have been at war for many years. The Talons of Peace want to bring an end to the fighting, and a prophecy is made. Five dragon eggs are raised hidden in a cave against their will to fulfill the prophecy. But then the five decide to escape their underground prison and find their homes. They succeed but are almost immediately captured by an evil queen. And the outside isn't what they expected at all. What will happen to them? Will they save the world? Or will they perish in their fight for freedom? I really liked this book. There was plenty and action, and I loved learning about all the unique dragon tribes and characteristics. It was interesting to see the development of the friendship between the five dragonets, and their reaction to their new reality. I recommend this book to fantasy and adventure (and of course dragon) lovers middle grade age and up. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is really good, it was pretty ready read too. This book is about two young boys who live in a really amazing tree house. The Terre house make me want to make one that cool. I really suggest the whole series.

The Beaumonts are a unique and unusual family. Each Beaumont, on their 13th birthday, get their inherited savvy. A savvy is a special ability like a superpower. All the savvy's are different, and can be anything. One of Mibs's brothers causes storms and another generates electricity, and neither is able to control his savvy too well yet. Now Mibs is about to turn thirteen, and they all wonder what her savvy will be. But just before her birthday, her father is in a car accident, and now lies in a coma in the hospital. And Mibs just hopes that whatever her savvy is, it will be something that can save him. I loved this book, it is such a unique concept, and Ingrid Law pulled it off beautifully. I kept wanting to turn the page and find out what was going to happen next. I especially liked that I got to feel what Mibs was feeling as she was trying to figure out her savvy and control it and as she goes on an adventure in the hopes of saving her father. I recommend it to middle grade students and older. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is about a girl named Nikki who is in middle school and her dad gets a job in a new school. On Nikki first day her licker is crowded, ask the sudden it pets great she has the locker needed to the MOST popular girl in 8th grade. McKenzie Hollister!! Nikki eventually gets friend, she has a crush, but I'd going to have the worst year ever. She keeps begging her mom for the new iPhone but she says no. When mom gives her a peanut she is sure it is one but...When she opens the present it's a book. A blank book.. oh no her mom got her a DIARY, she does not think she will air in out.In the end out is her MOST prized possession.

This book had a very interesting format. Basically, two young boys are telling the story of everything that happened when they tried to make a book that was due in a day. I would compare the layout to books like Dork Diaries and Diaries of the Wimpy Kid, although this book has even more pictures and less words. I did enjoy this book, and found it very funny, even though it is clearly meant for kids just beginning to read or have been ready at a low level. This is the type of book my 9 year old sister enjoys. There is no inappropriate language or scenes in this book, and I would recommend it to all younger kids and beginning readers.

Three Times Lucky was not a book that I enjoyed. The basic plot was a 12-year old trying to solving several murders and kidnapping cases. There are few books that I can't finish, or only finish because of obligation. Three Times Lucky was one of these books. Although the plot idea was interesting, and the writing style was very good, I think that the concept could have been executed differently. This is definitely a book for young adults, not younger kids. There were many gory scenes, and hair-raising experiences. It was basically a murder mystery. Overall, I do not suggest this book. Of course every person has the right to their own opinion.
