Growing Up with Aloha: A Nanea Classic 1 (American Girl Beforever Classic)
By Kirby Larson
When I received this book from DOGObooks, I was thrilled to start reading! Nanea Mitchell is a 9-year-old girl who is growing up during the beginning of World War II in Hawaii. Nanea is tired of being called the baby of the family and is determined to prove herself responsible by winning a 'Helping Hand' contest with the help of her 2 best friends, Lily and Donna. But after the attacks by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, where Nanea's dad works, the contest doesn't seem to matter anymore. Lily's father has been taken away, and Donna and her mother might have to leave Hawaii because they are labeled "unnecessary" by the government! Plus, Nanea's beloved puppy is missing! Everything is a mess. Nanea doesn't know what to do besides try to help out as much as she can. But being a kid amidst the war, it will be hard. Will life in Hawaii ever be the same? This book is outstanding! I didn't know too much about Pearl Harbor before reading this book, but now I've learned a lot! This book has humor, adventure, and a twist at the end that will make you want to read the sequel! I recommend this book for kids 8+!

Judy Moody, Mood Martian
By Megan McDonald
This is about Judy trying to be in a good mood for a whole week.her friends and her little brother Stink thinks she is a alien. I really like this book because it has a lot of humor. I also like it because Judy is a little more girly.I really like Judy Moody's books. But it was a little easy. Over all it was great!
Falling Kingdoms
By Morgan Rhodes
This book was amazing! It had so many completely different things happening with different characters at the same. But they all tied in together. So if one main character did something big, it would impact another main character greatly but the other main character would have never noticed! This book really shows that if you have to much hatred an revenge clouding your common sense than you could start terrible things that could impact 3 kingdoms greatly...
The House on the Cliff (Hardy Boys)
By Franklin W. Dixon
I think this is the second book in this series, but I'm reading these out of order, and it doesn't really matter. The Hardy Boys are investagating a house that is, of course, on a cliff. They have left because os an anynomous scream however. And now they have to figure out what's wrong with the house, all while they help their dad with a smuggling case. ARe these two things tied together, or is it just a mistake? .

In a carton full of bad eggs, it may be next to impossible to find a good egg. Believe it or not, there is a good egg in the egg cartons. Can the good egg find time for herself, as well and reduce tension?
Eggs Mark the Spot
By Mary Jane Auch, M. J. Auch
The chicken in this story is a true artist, who can lay eggs with different sceneries if she focuses. The chicken goes to an art exhibit to lay eggs, but there are problems, like all good books have. At first, she is not able to focus so she comes when the exhibit's closed. The chicken then decides to be creative, and make sceneries similar to the paintings. Her owner does not like it, but the chicken wonders if it is wrong to be an original artist. The same chicken helps everyone catch a their who stole a painting and told them his entering route. Will people finally learn that it is not wrong to be an artist and find inspiration? Or will people still force her to make original copies?
