Warriors #6: The Darkest Hour (Warriors: The Prophecies Begin)

Warriors #6: The Darkest Hour (Warriors: The Prophecies Begin)

By Erin Hunter

This is the conclusion to the first arc of the Warriors franchise. This book was amazing, and I couldn't imagine the first story arc being wrapped up better. The characters were complex, and I love everything about this book. There are some major spoiler The plot is that after Bluestar's death,Firestar travels to the Moonstone to receive his nine lives but the process is interrupted with the prophecy "Four will become two,Lion and Tiger will meet in battle and blood will rule the forest. At the next Gathering, Tigerstar requests that all the four clans should join together. Windclan and Thunderclan refuse, but Riverclan agrees, forming Tigerclan with Tigerstar as the leader. One day as Firestar is sipping water,he comes to the realization that Starclan wants him to form and lead Lionclan. Firestar and Graystripe then travel to Windclan territory to suggest the idea to Windclan. Windclan ends up accepting and they go to confront Tigerclan. When they finally get there about to fight,Scourge , the leader of Bloodclan joins Tigerstar. Tigerstar tells them to attack ,but Scourge refuses to and Tigerstar attacks.Scourge dodges and slashes Tigerstar's belly open ,which creates the most horrific and gruesome scene in the series.Scourge's blow was so powerful that Tigerstar died nine times over. After this incident Firestar gets his warriors prepared for the upcoming battle. Will Firestar beat Scourge and face his destiny?Find out by reading this book. I would give this series overall 4 1/2 stars due to there being so many characters to keep up with . I can't wait to read the next story arc!

Third Grade Mermaid

Third Grade Mermaid

By Peter Raymundo

This book was pretty ok to me. It is about this mermaid. She gets her report card and she gets A's in everything except spelling. She is going to join this famous swim team. The couch kicks her out because she didn't get a good grade in spelling( she got an F). She has this pet named Salty. Also her mother gives her a diary. To get back on the swim team, she has to get a good grade on her next spelling test. She has to study for the test. The conflict is that she doesn't want to study. Also it takes her a long time to memorize the spelling for the words. Later she meets a group that she loves to watch. The girl that is mean to her is her favorite group's sibling. She surprisingly invites her to her party. Later they go on a field trip and discover her secret. At the end she makes the spot she wants but doesn't take it. I thought this book was ok. It wasn't really fascinating. Event though this book wasn't the best, you should still try the book and see if you like it. I rate this book three stars.

Elephant Secret

Elephant Secret

By Eric Walters

Plz_Follow_Me

I TOTALLY recommend this book to you! :) This is a wonderful book if you like mystery, and adventure. Here is about the book: Samantha (Sam) lives at the elephant sanctuary her dad runs and views the elephants there as much a part of her family as her single dad is. When a beloved elephant dies in childbirth, Sam develops a special connection with the baby, named Woolly because she has an unusual amount of hair. It soon becomes apparent that Woolly is . . . different. Woolly's mother was part of a special breeding project, and Woolly's DNA is not elephant but that of a rare specimen -- a woolly mammoth -- procured by the eccentric billionaire genius who runs the program. He will stop at nothing to protect Woolly, his multimillion-dollar investment, even it means turning Sam and her dad's world upside-down. An astonishing fact-based look at elephant behaviour and an endearing girl-elephant friendship. This book is about 352 pages long, and full of goodness and adventure! It's a heartwarming story. Please read it!

I think young kids should read the book The hungry, hungry caterpillar by the author Eric Carl. I think you should read The hungry, hungry caterpillar because Eric Carl makes great illustrations! Eric Carl also has short words and very few long words for beginning readers! You can also teach kids their numbers, but in FUN! This book, The hungry, hungry caterpillar is the life cycle of a caterpillar who eats a lot. I think the hungry, hungry caterpillar is going to be a great book for young kids!

The Yearling

The Yearling

By Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, N. C. Wyeth

I think I understand what you (@thistle912) mean about the grammar; it's not the way my friends and I talk and it's difficult for me to read. "Yes" people really did talk that way & recently. As a "kid" of the 1970s, I remember "Andy Griffith" spoke similarly to that on TV. Where I live in central CA, there's been a trend in education to recognize that "standard" English is important, but it's not the only legitimate dialect. I tried to read the Yearling a few times and just recently decided to "read" the audio book to get more used to the accent and to think about whether or not the story is appropriate for my young nephew. My nephew's family and I don't eat meat, but the idea of "kill or go hungry" is an important part of our history.

This book was really funny. I laughed a lot when reading it. The Bad Guys are some of my favorite super heroes. They have trouble, but always help each other in the end.
