Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are moving in with their new guardians, the incredibly wealthy Esme and Jerome Squalor. Jerome is nice but he goes along with everything his wife says, and all his wife cares about is what is in, and what is out. The Baudelaire children have to play along with everything while trying to find their missing friends, the Quagmires. But when Count Olaf once again shows up in a disguise that fools everyone, the Baudelaires know the Quagmires must be nearby, and that Olaf seems to have an inside accomplice. Will they be able to find their friends and stop Count Olaf? And will anything good ever happen in this series of unfortunate events?

The Baudelaire children are now being sent to their newest guardian, the owner of the Lucky Smells Lumber Mill to live, and apparently, to work. The Baudelaire have to hope that the treacherous Count Olaf has lost their trail. But when he shows up once more the Baudelaires will have to try their very best to reveal him to the mill owner while dealing with a docter who practices hypnotism. Will the Violet, Klaus, and Sunny ever escaper Count Olaf's clutches?

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire have been followed by the notorious villain, Count Olaf, who is trying to get his hands on the enormous fortune that the Baudelaire parents left behind when they died in a fire. The Baudelaire children have been with guardian after guardian but Count Olaf is always right behind them. And now, since guardians are obviously not working, the Baudelaires are going to boarding school. There they meet new friends, discover startling secrets about their parents, and discover that Count Olaf is disguised as the new gym teacher, with yet another scheme to steal their fortune. Will the Baudelaire children and their new friends be able to reveal Count Olaf's terrible plan, or will they end up in his clutches once and for all?
