This book is about a mermaid named Cora. She has trouble spelling, and got an F on her report card in spelling, leading to her getting kicked off the swim team unless she starts raising her spelling grades. I love how in the book the author marked out some works because she misspelled them, which really shows that this book was in diary character even though this is fiction. Her mom had put a spell on her. The diary she gave her (she thought it would help with her spelling) was enchanted. Since she willingly put a pen to paper, she is now compelled to write in it. I think this book was funny, and I recommend it to 3rd graders. I rate this book 4/5.

"I'm such a dork"- Nikki Maxwell really wants a phone (is that even a need, Nikki?) But instead, she receives a DIARY. If someone catches you writing in a diary, they think you're a dork. Nikki said she would NEVER use the diary her mother got her. Well, she used it anyway. Another character, MacKenzie Hollister, she is like RICH. She's the most popular girl in the 8th grade. Yet, she's a bully. She takes all of Nikki's locker space. When Nikki asks her POLITELY to move, MacKenzie just ignores her. I really liked this story. It was really funny and interesting. I couldn't put the book down! I literally begged to stay up late and read the whole thing.

Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye was about a boy named Warren, living in a dark, dusty old hotel. Warren loved the hotel until his aunt Anaconda took over. Ever since, Warren has been working very hard. Chores, chores, and more chores to do around the hotel. And in the kitchen all he gets for breakfast, supper, dinner, and dessert is porridge. His aunt and uncle get all the good food. They won't allow Warren to eat what they eat, and say porridge is an appropriate food for a growing boy. But sometimes the cook gives Warren something without his uncle and aunt watching. His aunt Anaconda is after the All-Seeing Eye. But Warren needs it to continue his family legacy. This book was mysterious, and full of adventure. I rate it 5/5 and recommend it to mystery readers.

This book is great! It's about a twelve year old named Percy Jackson who gets kicked out of all the schools he attends. But something really strange happens on a field trip. He was getting mad at Nancy Bobofit, a bully who keeps picking on Percy and his best friend Grover. He was approaching her but Grover held him back, saying he wouldn't want to get in trouble again on this field trip with his favorite and only favorite teacher, Mr. Brunner. So Percy didn't do anything, but a huge wave coming from the fountain where Nancy was sitting hit her, and she was soaked. She automatically pointed at Percy and said that he did it when he didn't. Then, Percy's least favorite teacher Mrs. Dodds tells him to follow her. She tells him that he was being trouble again, and Percy decided not to argue or things could get nasty. So he just said yes to her. But then she tells him to follow her into the museum. I loved this book! I recommend it to adventure lovers, and if you want to learn about Greek mythology. This book is a very good way to learn about Greek mythology, and you're also reading a good fiction book while learning some facts! I highly recommend it

Ava finds a magic pencil that gives her all the answers. She can just write down her (factual) questions and her pencil tells her the answer, but Ava quickly realizes that having all the answers isn't always a good thing. When she learns through the pencil that her mother has cancer, she will do anything to get her mom help without raising suspicion, even if it means facing her fears and anxieties. This is a thought provoking book about how we try to control everything. But not everything is in our control. Maybe knowing something but being powerless to change anything is worse than not knowing at all.
