Dork Diaries are those books that never seem to get old, no matter how many years have passed since you first started the series and got obsessed. It's been years since I've read the first one, and my reading style and level has definitely changed over that period of time, but the stunning illustrations and plots never disappoint. This book was a quick read, but in the time I spent reading it, I enjoyed every second of it. The book takes some unexpected twists, and I find myself following Niki, the main character, around, experiencing and feeling everthing she is going through. The author captures the struggles of teens beautifully, making it completely relatable. Each event gets me hungry for more.

Rereading books is something I seldom do. Once I read a story, reliving the events and enjoying it just isn't as easy as the first time. On the other hand, The Lightning Thief was a book that required multiple rereads to fully comprehend how amazing and thrilling it was. The way Rick Riordan narrates his book is its own art. It's like having a conversation with this relatable teen through the pages of these books. I can't recall reading a book that follows the topic of Greek gods, but this one will definitely stick in my mind forever. The adventures and challenges Percy faces finding out he is a demigod, child of a mortal and god, are amazingly thrilling and exciting. You find a lot of people raving about the book, and there's a perfect reason for it. This book definitely taught me a lot about mythology and gave me the full experience of reading an entertaining and amusing book.

As usual, Jeff Kinney succeeds in releasing another relatable, humorous, and entertaining book. Despite the laid back nature the book tends to have, it was definitely a piece of writing that did not lack any of the classical techniques including descriptions. When Greg was spending his time with the other boys in the cabin, I could see myself standing in the cramped space, foul odors drifting around me, and the chatter of the loud boys. It was all so vivid, and the pictures were crazy good as always. Usually, I feel that the books written by Jeff Kinney are very predictable, but this time, the author did not take his usual path. Instead, I found myself being surprised by something at the end. Did not see it coming, but that may be the reason why Old School was so amazing!

I love fairytale twists, and this is probably my most favorite book with one! It is set in a futuristic world, where Cinder is a cyborg who works for her evil stepmother and stepsister. Soon, she meets the crown prince of China, Prince Kai, which sets her off on a thrilling adventure. Not only that, but there is a disease devastating the entire world and moon people who are very evil. There are many twists and turns that you won't be able to foresee, which makes this book such a great read!

I have yet to read this book, but if I can ever get my hands on it, I would definitely be overjoyed. I've read many of Raina Telgemeir's books including, Sisters, Smile, and Drama. All of them were amazing, with great humor, amazing plot lines, and beautiful illustrations. I have high hopes for Ghosts. The book is calling my name.
