Warren the 13th is a 12-year-old boy who is the manager of the Warren Hotel. He did not know he would have other problems besides him cleaning and fixing the ceilings of bathrooms that day. His Uncle Rupert accidentally spilled his punch on the controllers, which was water off limits but also any other drink. The Warren Hotel crashes and all the guests leave, wanting refunds. Since the part where the punch spilled is fragile, Warren and his friend Petula had to go get something that will clean the spill, and maybe candy. It turned out the shopkeeper had both but tricked Warren into eating the candy and lying to him that he needed his teeth cleaned since he ate it. Petula left to deliver the other items, and Warren was left with the shopkeeper. But the shopkeeper tied him to a chair, took 1 tooth out, and left him there. It turned out he was a mimic, and his name is now "Worren"! He then arrives at the Warren Hotel and pretends he is Warren. This book kept me excited and it made me think about what was going to happen next! I rate this 5/5 and recommend it to readers who read the first Warren the 13th book, and readers who love books filled with lots of illustrations!Over 6 years agoswirlycool's book review was featured in Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods: A Novel.

"The five worlds are on the brink of extinction unless five ancient and mysterious beacons are lit." This book must have taken lots of work and creativity to publish! Oona Lee, the clumsiest student at Sand Dancer Accademy, did not know she would have a destiny like this. She did not know that her sister would become an evil Toki trying to stop the beacons from lighting. Especially if your sister was the best sand dancer at the academy. I felt this book a little hard to understand at first, but later I quickly caught onto the plot and idea, and I have to admit, this is a very original story! I rate this 5/5 because of originality and good illustrations. I recommend this book to action and maybe mystery readers.Over 6 years agoswirlycool's book review was featured in 5 Worlds Book 1: The Sand Warrior.

After watching the Maze Runner movies, I was interested enough to want to delve into the books, so I began the adventure with this one. We are immediately thrown into the fray, following a kid named Thomas who has no memories, just like every other "shank" in the glade. Dashner creates a mostly fascinating book, with strong characters, and I think he did a good job on it, but it almost feels as if it's missing something. I would say the thing The Maze Runner lacked most of was, as a reader, I somewhat feel a bit detached from the characters. But overall, this was a nice dystopian novel, and I'd recommend to anyone in middle school and above who's looking for a sound read.Over 6 years ago
