The Story of Doctor Dolittle (Random House Modern Classics)
By Hugh Lofting
The Story of Doctor Dolittle, by Hugh Lofting, teaches about tolerance. Dr. Dollitle is a doctor who can speak animal languages and loves animals, but he has so many animals that his sister left and he became poor. He didn’t mind, though, because he still had his animals. After some time, a swallow came and told the doctor that he needed to cure some monkeys in africa. He didn’t have enough money, but he borrowed a boat and supplies from people who knew that he was a good doctor. After a while, he cured the monkeys and went back home. The animals also showed him the pushmi-pullyu, an animal which has two heads. He earned enough money showing people it that he had enough for a while. I recommend this classical book for boys and girls, grades third to sixth.
Frozen: The Junior Novelization
By RH / Disney
It is good because it is sad and happy. I read the book before I watched the movie and I am glad I did because I knew that even though it was sad that it was going to be good at the end. I read this book to my little sister a lot.
The Son Of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, Book 2)
By Rick Riordan
Let’s go Percy, let’s go! Let’s go Percy, let’s go! Let’s go--, hello Percy! Ah, The Son of Neptune, I’ve been waiting… The Son of Neptune is the second novel in the Heroes of Olympus series. I’ve read (and enjoyed) the first book, The Lost Hero. (By the way, my review of The Lost Hero is up and running on DogoBooks. Go check it out!) But, we are here to discuss the second novel, so The Lost Hero, get lost again. ***CHARACTERS*** The three main characters in the book are Percy, Frank, and Hazel. One is a kid who forgot his memory, second is a kid who *SPOILER* can turn into animals, and lastly is a girl who *SPOILER* came back from the dead. Wondering how they are best friends? Trust me, I don’t know either. But I love them all the same. PERCY- Was a character that I felt bad for. Imagine forgetting who you are and left without a clue for (I think) eight to nine months. But Percy was a well-written character. He made me laugh and cry the whole time… FRANK- Was hilarious! Frank just summed up my entire life with his clumsiness. He is so funny and sweet, and a really great character. His backstory is so interesting and sad that I couldn’t put done the book with Frank’s chapter. HAZEL- Was so sweet. Her life is so interesting. Hazel was a fragile character deep inside. She had secrets and memories that made her happy. She held on to them even though she lived a horrible (past) life. Oh! I was really happy when *SPOILER* Thanatos (or Pluto) let her live. Thank god(s) that she was allowed to proceed to her new life. That made me very relaxed. ***SETTING*** Camp Jupiter was a really interesting place. Not only did I have to adjust from Camp Half-Blood to Camp Jupiter, but I had to also look up different gods and goddesses that were new to me in Roman form. In conclusion, I loved this book. It was fast paced with action and plot-twists that I couldn’t just stop reading. Five stars from me!
Adventures from the Land of Stories: The Mother Goose Diaries
By Chris Colfer
This book was very good ! You get to know another side of the sarcastic old Mother Goose. One of my favorite parts was the gander part. I thought it was funny. I pretty much liked all of It! It explains some history such as royals, plagues, civil, women and LGBT rights. I also thought it was funny when she found Amelia Earhart. This is a great book to get to know Mother Goose more. It will make you laugh out loud.

Gregor The Overlander (Underland Chronicles)
By Suzanne Collins
This book is great. It's set in summertime. Gregor's stuck in his family's apartment, babysitting his younger sister, Margaret (Boots). When he has to do the laundry, he takes her with him to the laundry room. As he does the laundry, Boots disappears down a grate to a world under New York City. Gregor follows, and they fall down to the Underland with giant rats, bats big enough to ride on, and strange, pale, violet-eyed people. As strange as all this is, what's even stranger is that they're calling him the warrior, the Overlander foretold to save the Underland. You should read this, whoever you are.
