Houdini and Me
By Gutman, Dan
I will admit, I did have my own doubts when I began to read Houdini and Me. Our protagonist, 11 year old Harry Mancini, was born and raised in the home that Harry Houdini himself lived in for the last twenty something years of his extraordinary life. Like most 11 year olds, Harry copes with typical struggles of tweens: not being given a phone, too much homework, friend drama, and the looming fact that Harry Houdini wants to switch places with Harry Mancini for the rest of eternity. Harry Mancini and his best friend Zeke decide to one day test out whether placing a penny on a train rail would flatten the penny or derail the train (Spoiler alert: It flattens the penny). Harry, after placing the money on the train rail, gets his shoelace stuck in the train rail and barely avoids being crushed by the train. However, Harry also sustains a concussion on the way down and falls into a week long coma. When he wakes, Mancini discovers that someone has sent him a flip phone as a get well gift, and Harry is less than thrilled. But all of his feelings swap when he begins to receive texts from someone; they claim to be Harry Houdini communicating from the dead. Harry Mancini enjoys his nightly text exchanges with Houdini until the latter Harry suggests that both of them switch places for one hour. Harry Mancini complies, and afterwards Houdini suggests that they do the switch once again, but they will both never return to their original form. The story ends in an amazing plot twist with Mancini waking up from another week long coma, only to find a flip phone inside a get well present. I enjoyed reading this book, and would really love to learn about what being stuck in this time loop means for both Harrys. A true page turner, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrills and mysteries.

By Megan McDonald
I just finished ready Judy Moody Goes to College by Megan McDonald it was a very good book. I really enjoyed the book because I was always curious on what Judy Moody would say next because she is very sassy. Her math teacher says she needs to improve her math skills. Judy Moody: The Doctor Is In!
By Megan McDonald
Judy is thrilled when her teacher announces that they are going to study the Amazing Human Body in class. Not only do they learn all kinds of “RARE!” things, but they get to go on field trip to the ER in the local hospital. Here the doctor in charge tells them all about what happens in the ER, he shows them some very interesting x-rays, and he even demonstrates how they put a cast on a broken arm. Best off all he uses Judy’s arm to demonstrate! The only thing that worries Judy is that she cannot come up with a good idea for her Human Body project. Stink won’t let her operate on his toad, she does not think her band-aid collection is all that interesting, and every other idea that she comes up simple isn't best-third-grade-project-ever worthy. Then Stink shares a special secret with Judy and she gets the idea of a lifetime. As with all the Judy Moody books, this title is laugh out loud funny. Judy, her brother Stink, and all her friends are as delightful as ever. Their ‘voices’ are genuine, and their adventures are true to life. At the same time, the stories have a delicious element of nuttiness that children (and other readers!) will find irresistible.
Judy Moody, Girl Detective
By Megan McDonald
I liked this book because she's into Nancy Drew and she has to solve a mystery in real life like Nancy would. And she likes to call herself Judy Drewy. I gave it 4 stars because I liked her other books better. I would still like to read more Judy Moody books.
Judy Moody Gets Famous!
By Megan McDonald
Another easy chapter book for you to enjoy. I read this one in 2 days as well. I enjoyed this book because it is kind of what I am experiencing with some of my peers having been in a few commercials and in the newspaper recently. Judy is like my friends, a little jealous because her friend's is in the newspaper for winning a spelling bee. The book helped me understand why some of my friends were not being nice to me and it helped me talk to them. My favorite part would be when Judy makes the broken, weird-looking, dolls in the hospital look like nice patients that are healing. This shows that being kind and doing for others when it comes from the heart will make you famous, too!
Judy Moody Saves the World! (Book #3)
By Megan McDonald
I like this book because she tries to save the world by setting Toady free which is Sink's pet and stink is Judy moody brother which was not the best idea because Sink gets mad and Judy gets in trouble by her parents and they say to go to her room. When Sink finds out that she is in a tree she says that this is her room and where she is living!!!!!!! Read this book to find out if she really stays in a tree or not if yes then how does she pull it off? Find out in another great book of Judy Moody!!!!!!!
Judy Moody
By Megan McDonald
So starting any grade is hard, the first day and you look around and everyone got the text except for you on what to wear, what backpack to have and which shoes are in. This is Judy's first day of third grade and she is not going to let it bum her out, but it does. There are many chapters that make you laugh. My favorite part would be when Judy gets a Venus flytrap that she named Jaws. I read this book in two days and didn't want to stop reading it.
