House of the Scorpion
By Nancy Farmer
This book is one of the best I've read. Matt, the main character is a clone of an evil drug warlord. As he struggles to understand his existence, Matt learns the horrifyingly evil heart of his savior-drug lord master and the background of the power-hungry Alacran family. This book is action-packed with an amazing plot and is able to combine it with an element of mystery and daunting problematic schemes. This book keeps to the story and doesn't stray off and talk about every single thing we don't need to know. If you like stories about friendship, hope, and survival, this book is definitely for you.

Clementine and the Family Meeting (Clementine (Hardcover))
By Sara Pennypacker
I love this book.I has a dash of humor and it is very inspiring.Clementine is having a nervous breakdown.HER FAMILY MEETING SIGN IS UP!She wondering if is eating to much candy or she is needs more manners and so on,so on.But instead her mom is pregnant and don't want a new baby. She thinks 4 people is a perfect number not 5 people. But she realizes that having a new baby is a good thing and life isn't always perfect. You will chuckle to Clementine's unique perspective on the age old issue of sibling rivalry.HOPE YOU LOVE THIS BOOK!Sara Pennypacker is a great author who wrote this book. This book is so amazing I kept reading it.Some parts were so funny I feel of my chair.
The Secret Lake: A children's mystery adventure
By Karen Inglis
*Spoiler This book was mediocre. First of all, the beginning of the story was confusing. There were too many things going on and it was hard to follow. The plot was interesting overall and I liked the characters and their personalities. For example, Jack's british accent made it fun to read aloud. One thing though is that, as the story continued, lot of things that happened were predictable like when they found out that Charlie Green was Jack's son. For these reasons I give this book 3 stars.
Death Note, Vol. 6
By Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata
I recommend this manga to anime lovers that like a little crime solving. Light Yagami, the main character can get you lost in his own 'perfect world' that he plains on creating with the death note he was gifted with by a shinagami. A crime solving manga with its own twists and I its way to make its readers and watchers cry.
Absolutely Normal Chaos
By Sharon Creech
Rain
I am in 6th grade, and I read this in my free time. It isn't a hugely popular book, but I absolutely LOVE it! It has just the right amount of just about every emotion, and it is funny and sad in just the right places. I really enjoyed reading it, and it is now one of my all time favorites. I tried to read it in 1st grade, but it didn't interest me then. I think any girl (or maybe even boy, I'm not sure) 4th grade age or above will greatly enjoy this book. Like I said, it isn't totally popular, and I never would have heard of it if it weren't for my aunt. She was best friends with Sharon Creech's daughter. I only know one other book by Sharon Creech, and I haven't read it . . . yet. It's called Walk Two Moons, and I'm sure it will be just as good as Absolutely Normal Chaos.
The Shadow Thieves (The Cronus Chronicles)
By Anne Ursu
This is a great book with a modern take on Greek mythology. Overall, it had strong characters and a strong, if not chaotic plotline. Comparable with Percy Jackson and the Olympians. (It's an especially good book during a long, somewhat painful Jewish holiday in which ALL of your mom's half of the family crams into your grandmother's house for three straight days and you literally have nothing to do. Oy vey.)
Arden Shakespeare: The Merchant Of Venice: (2nd Series)

The Sight (Warriors: Power of Three, Book 1)
By Erin Hunter
“There will be three, kin of your kin...who hold the power of the stars in their paws.” The ancient prophecy was given to Firestar, leader of ThunderClan, and revolves around the lives of his grandchildren. Jaypaw, Lionpaw, and Hollypaw, the kits of Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight, are about to begin their warrior training as apprentices. They are the prophesied cats, destined to be the most powerful warriors who ever lived. Jaypaw is blind...but sees more than his siblings and friends think he does. He is apprenticed to Brightheart, a warrior, but feels restless and unhappy. Instead, he decides to train as a medicine cat, and becomes dedicated to healing ThunderClan’s cats for the rest of his life. Lionpaw is a great hunter and fighter already...which is why he’s being trained in his dreams by Tigerstar, an evil cat who almost destroyed ThunderClan. Unaware of the danger, he continues to see Tigerstar, learning things that no one could have imagined... And Hollypaw is the thinker, the smartest of her siblings, the one who ponders over every single thought and action. She is excited to become an apprentice, but she must choose who she wants to be; a warrior or a medicine cat? Three cats...one destiny. Read this book to find out what happens!
Outbreak (The 39 Clues: Super Special, Book 1)
By C. Alexander London
This new installment in the Cahill family secrets certainly lives up to its predecessors. Dan and Amy Cahill are having fun living with their cousins and pulling off secret operations, and taking turns being the leader of the group. Then one day the CIA knocks on their door-they have a new mission. The government had been working on a top-secret disease that could knock out millions. But it was stolen by one of their own, the traitor Sinead Starling. So Dan, Amy and the other Cahills set off on an adventure to retrieve the poison and try to find out what Sinead Starling is about to. But finding out the truth might be harder than they thought, and there are others out there against the Cahills. Will the Cahills be able to stop the outbreak of a disease so powerful that it could wipe out the world? And find the truth about their rogue cousin? One part I liked international places in this book-specifically Cuba, which Sinead is targeting. The government plays a big part, and the tense relationship between the US and Cuba as well. It just made everything a little bit more interesting and tricky. Like other books in the 39 Clues, Super-special Outbreak is hair-raising, with with twists around every corner. I couldn't put it down! I hope there are more coming! I recommend this book(and this series), to anybody 4th grade and up. I believe for most younger than that the book would be too violent. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
