I relate to one of these people Tim Howard we both overcame living with Tourette Syndrome. My book is Rising Above How 11 Athletes Overcame Challenges in Their Youth to Become Stars by Gregory Zuckerman. My book took place all over Eastern Hemisphere it is from the 1940s to now. My book is focused on 11 athletes that overcame challenges as kids to get to where they are now. Some interesting facts are that Tim Howard was diagnosed with OCD and Tourette Syndrome. Jim Abbott was a pitcher in the MLB and he only had one arm. Stephen Curry was good at basketball but he was short and scrawny so no college wanted him. Dwyane Wade’s mother was a drug dealer and a drug addict. Dwyane Wade was really good at basketball but no college wanted him because he struggled academically. I would recommend this book to people who like sports and are struggling in their life but it is also for older readers.

Do you know what it is like to have a brother with autism? Well in the book rules you will know.In The book Rules by Cynthia Lord there is a girl named Catherine and she has a younger brother with autism his name is David. The book takes place at their house and OT which is speech therapy for David. In this book the protagonist is Catherine because she is loving and caring for her brother. The antagonist is David autism because its makes it so Catherine has to watch over him all the time. She can’t have friends over because she is sacred that he is going to do something embarrassing. The first conflict in the book is when Catherine gets a new neighbor and she wants to come over to her house all the time but Catherine is scared that David is going to do something bad. The second conflict in the book is when her friend Jason that she meet at David's therapy class invites her to his birthday part but the girl next door wants her to got to a dance that she is going on the same day so she doesn't know what to do. But at the end of the book she starts realizing that it is not David's fault. Catherine writes speech cards for Jason and also wrote rules for Divided. I would recommend this book to someone that is 6th or 7th grade that want a quick and easy book to read.

Do you like books with with adventure and some suspense, then you will enjoy the book The Journey Back by Priscilla Cummings. When a boy named Michael “Digger” Griswold pulls a prank that goes bad, he is sent to the Cliffside Youth Detention Center and has to escape to get back to his family to save them from abuse from the Father. The story takes place in The Cliffside youth detention center, a forest, a horse farm, a highway, a campground, and a Virginia Canal Towpath and it takes place in present time. The protagonist Michael is and the antagonist is the police because they are after him because he is on the run, another is a guy named Sherwood Hawkins steals all the money that Michael has preventing him from going anywhere. One conflict is that he is in jail on Maryland’s western border and that he has to escape. Another conflict is that he has to travel across the state with little money until Sherwood steals any money he has left. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to any who is old enough to understand some of the harsh and some what violent content and is able to read the harder wording and grammar in the book.

Do you want to read a story about a dog that doesn’t make you cry? Well, Smells Like Dog by Suzanne Selfors is the book for you. This book takes place in modern days, and traverses through many different locations such as the pudding farm, the town of Milkydale, the big city, Ajitabh’s tower, the museum, and Madame’s lair. The protagonist is Homer Winslow Pudding. He is a 12 year old boy with big hopes of becoming a treasure hunter and becoming like his departed Uncle Drake. The antagonist is Madame le Directeur. She is the one who murdered Homer’s uncle because they were looking for the same map. The book focuses on a very droopy dog named Dog. He was Homer’s uncle’s most valued possession due to his secret treasure hunting abilities. The first conflict in the story is that Homer’s father will not let him pursue his treasure hunting dreams. The second and larger conflict is that Madame Le Directeur is looking for the same map that Homer is, and is willing to kill him to get it. The turning point is when Homer’s uncle’s most treasured possession is delivered to him after the death of his uncle. This possession turned out to be a very droopy dog with a mysterious coin that throws Homer into his treasure hunting dream. This book was great. It was funny, mysterious, and very enjoyable. I recommend it to everyone with a sense of adventure.

csal1617's book review was featured in Let's Pretend This Never Happened (Dear Dumb Diary, No. 1).
The name of this book is Dear Dumb Diary. The author is Jim Benton. The book Dear Dumb Diary is a very good book. The setting is at her school. The time and period is modern time period. The protagonist, Jamie Kelly, she is nice and funny. The antagonist, Angelina, she is pretty and she has pretty blonde hair. There were two conflicts. Jamie likes this kid and Angelina stole him. The other confit is she is probably going to get in F because her dog ripped up her project. Both conflicts were solved the same way. I do not want to give it away so all I will say is Angelina helped. If you are in 6th of 7th grade this is a good book for you. I liked this because it was a funny book and relates to my grade. This book is about Jamie Kelly and her dairy. Jamie was telling us in her diary that her mom is not a very good cook and if she doesn't eat. Her mom gives her a big speech on the hungry kids would love to have this food. Jamie said that she always eats it so she doesn't get that speech that much. When she was walking into class she knew she was going to be first. At the end, it got a lot better and now Jamie and Angelina are good because Jamie did not have a project. When she got called up Angelina knew that she did not have a project . Angelina said they worked on the project together and Angelina wanted to help Jamie because Jamie took the blame when Angelina throw the meat loaf. I would recommend this book to a 6th or 7th grader because this could really happen in middle school.
