Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

By William Shakespeare

8 ratings 20 reviews 10 followers
Perhaps the most famous love story ever written, Romeo and Juliet’s two titular characters have become more than just tragic lovers at the center of a family feud – they have become cultural icons and universal symbols for the overwhelming power of love and the cruelness of fate. There have been more adaptations for stage (including opera and ballet), film and TV than can be counted, and – unlike many writers – William Shakespeare found immediate success and acclaim with this play, which is thought to have been composed between 1591 and 1595 and performed at both The Theater and The Curtain.

this is really good and an interesting concept, it was sort of hard to read because it was Shakespeare but he is a good writer even though it can be rough around the edges...

Classic, but should have a different story endng or plot!

I like this book but I think the ending should have been different.

it was good

At first, it's challenging to read, but as the story unfolds the language becomes less of an issue. The story is really relatable for teens and many feel a sense of accomplishment when they finish it AND find they actually understood it! It's one of my all-time favorites!

it's a good story

Although I don't prefer dramas, I did enjoy Romeo and Juliet. There are a lot of contrasts between the characters, as well as a lot of comparisons which I enjoyed as I read it.

When I first read the book, I didn't like it that much, but then as I got more into it, I started to like it more and wanted to read it more.
