The Book Thief is about a girl who lives in 1939, Nazi Germany. Liesel Meminger is adopted by Rosa and Hans Hubermann after her mother leaves her and her brother died. Liesel, with the help of her father, learns how to read. Liesel begins stealing books wherever she can find them. Liesel's relationships with the mayor's wife, her hated neighbors, and the Jewish man her family is hiding in the basement, grow stronger because of Liesel's family hiding a Jew. I like this book because it is narrated by death. Making death an important character in the story makes it more interesting because it is the main antagonist that none of the characters address as evil, but only as something feared. The characters like Rudy, Liesel's best friend, Liesel's mom, who is strict in a loving way, and Liesel's dad, who comforts her when she has nightmares, and cheers her up with his accordian help Liesel express herself and help her enjoy life more.About 7 years agosilvermoon33liked a comment in Island of the Blue Dolphins.

This book was an excellent murder mystery with a surprising twist at the end. My advanced reading class read this book with our amazing teacher Mrs. Feyko! :)About 7 years agosilvermoon33's movie review was featured in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
Mr. Slavinski: Darling, my shrinking machine really works. Mrs. Slavinski: That's great, honey. How do you know? Mr. Slavinski: Honey... Mrs. Slavinski: Yes? Mr. Slavinski: I just shrunk the kids. Mrs. Slavinski: Oh no!!!! Honey, I Shrunk The Kids is a clever and funny family-friendly movie about Mr. Wayne Slavinski and his many differences with their neighbors, the Thompsons. Wayne Slavinski ends up shrinking both the Slavinski kids and the Thompson kids. The children bond and learn their similarities through the adventure and the parents realize what is most important in raising their children...love and care.About 7 years agosilvermoon33 added a movie review.

It's not as good as the first one, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. They should have stopped making those movies after that. Honey, I Blew Up the Kid is about this new kid in the family and seriously...what happened to the other ones? And Honey, I Shrunk the Parents is a rip-off. I love Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, and in my opinion, that's the only good movie about the Slavinskis.About 7 years agosilvermoon33 has watched this movie.
