This book is for the older audience, but also can be for tweens, due to some suggestive material. The book tours you through the life of Laila. Everything is new to her, from homecoming dances to cereal. It really shows how life can vary if you aren't from the US. The author does a great job of also incorporating high school life into this, and does a great job throughout the book.
Prenna, a teenage girl, has more to her than what most people think. She's a time traveler from the future, along with many others, who live in the outside world as if there's nothing special about them. However, they have a set of rules they must follow in order to avoid revealing themselves to anyone. However, when she goes on a mission, along with her love interest, Ethan, she ends up disobeying one of the rules: Falling in love.
This book was truly thrilling, with a great plot, and things that happen that no one expected. All in all, a great book. The author did an amazing job, kudos to her!
A spooky thriller, Peeled is a great book to read on an October weekend, leading up to Halloween! Hildy Biddle's looking for a story to write in her high school newspaper. She's stumped until a haunted house in the neighborhood starts to create some racket. She does all she can to write an amazing story, which then leads into some clashing with other newspapers in the town, which then leads to blackmail. But finally, the high school newspaper finds their way, with a surprise twist at the end!
Joan did a great job with this book. One of my favorite parts was that she took Banesville, NY, the place that the story is in, and though it is fictional, she really makes it seem real, by adding in details like that it was in apple country, which is widespread throughout NY. She really gives attention to each individual character, and lets each of them grow. Overall, a quick read but a good read!
Disney is back at it again, making wonderful movies! This one is definitely for the younger demographic, and kids might even relate if they have experienced any of these situations. It's funny, has great animation, a great plot and all around is a fantastic movie!
A very modern day animated movie, Frozen is a great movie, with funny characters, a great script, and very many catchy tunes. It has so many lessons in the movie, all of which can relate to different age groups. While still keeping the original Disney Princess theme, this movie steps it up a bit with such beautiful graphics and modern day morals. All in all, it's a must watch movie for all ages.
This book was great! I especially loved the graphic novel aspect of it, since certain kids might be drawn more to books of this style. Raina is such a quirky and clever little character. She fights through everything like a champ, and she is quite the young heroine if I do say so. all in all, amazing book, great plot, unfortunate mishaps, but quite the thrilling graphic novel!
