Katniss Everdeen still lives in the dystopia of Panem, but now it is in District 13. She is classified as mentally disoriented, and spends most of her days roaming around the underground halls of District 13. Eventually, she is told she most become the Mockingjay in order to over ride the Capitol and eventually win the war. She is still unstable, as Peeta is currently being hijacked, a form of torture, in the Capitol. He eventually escapes, but his memories of Katniss are full of fear, and on many occasions he tries to kill her (he fails). Katniss soon heads to the Capitol to do secret work. I recommend this book to 11-29 year olds.Almost 5 years agokgbradshaw has read this book.

I really like this book, though it is kind of confusing up until the last 3 chapters, so DO NOT SKIM! I recommend it for 10-16 year olds, because it is a sort of typical fairy tale story.Almost 5 years agokgbradshaw has read this book.

Set in a future dystopia, Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12 in Panem, which is what used to be North America. Every year in Panem one boy and one girl are chosen from each District to compete in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death. One year, Katniss's sister, Prim, gets chosen to go to the Games. As a result, Katniss volunteers to save her. The male drawn from District 12 is Peeta Mellark. Katniss is appalled by this; Peeta once saved her life from starvation. In interviews, Peeta confesses that he is in love with Katniss. This plays out in the Games, and that is all I can tell you! I personally love this book, and it is one of my favorite books, and I literally can't put it down. I recommend this book to 10-110 year olds.Almost 5 years agokgbradshaw added a book review.
