At first glance, I had judged the book by its cover. I had read the fairy tale this book was based on, and it was quite boring. Now that I’ve read this book, I’ve absolutely fell in love with it. The constant theme it had was really amazing, and I loved this book. In this book, a boy named Rump struggles because of his name. He is laughed at by many people, and becomes the “butt” of all jokes. Because of this, he believes that his destiny is terrible, and thinks he won’t have a good life. He then discovers a spinning wheel, and uses it to find out he can make gold. This leads him into a lot of trouble, as the miller he is enemies with uses him to his advantage. After that, he goes on a journey, and through this, he finds the true power and destiny of his real name, I loved the format, and everything this book offered really satisfied me. I would recommend it to 3rd to 6th graders, because the plot sometimes gets complicated, and the book includes deaths of people close to Rump. But all in all, I feel this book is a must-read!

I would love to read this book, because I feel that I would learn a lot of information with it. I’ve read the previous almanacs, and they’ve all had interesting facts. I’d love to receive the newest copy, and would definitely love to review it.

As a big brother, I’ve seen my brother read a lot of great books, but was unsure about Babymouse. It seemed a little too “high energy” , but after reading this story, my prejudice has completely changed. In this book, Babymouse is making the transition from elementary school to middle school. After a lot of locker trouble and such, she finds out that there is a drama club at her school. She is then tasked by the leading teacher of drama club to be the director of a play, and has no idea what to do. But throughout the book, she brings her closest friends, and makes a movie, which she learns is a true adventure. I like doing this story, but recommend to 4th graders and below because the plot may become boring to readers my age, though I liked it. I found it cool how it portrayed things middle schoolers like me can relate to, such as locker troubles. I saw this book as amazing, and I found it funny, through the whole entire plot.
