Austin's annual stiletto stampede is not a marathon by any stretch of the imagination, but it is not for the faint of the heart either. That's because the brave women and men that participate in the 100-yard sprint not only don pink hats, wigs and even fairy wings, but also, stilettos that sport a heel of at least 5-inches!

Now in its fourth year, the fun race was founded by a group of enterprising residents of the beautiful Texas city to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. This year's event which took place on October 20th, was a giant success with hundreds of women, men and even dogs all eager to kick up their heels, for a great cause!

that is so funny how the men raced in heels i was just waiting for the guy in the front to fall right on his face. i also thought it was funny how the dogs raced for a second i thought that the dogs were racing in high heels to but thank god their not that could be dangerous which brings me to something else how these people are running in heels and while their running they could get seriously hurt by twisting their ankles. that's not safe and not a very good idea to run in heels especially for the men because they are so clumsy and DO NOT know how to where heels. if you read this thank you for listening or reading what i have to say about this article
