The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The classic, in all its glory – though what many forget is how well this tale of American boyhood holds up even after nearly 150 years. Tom Sawyer, his best friend Huck Finn, his would-be girlfriend Becky Thatcher, and his aunt Polly teach and learn about life, death, race and painting fences in a “typical” 19th century Midwestern town that bears a striking resemblance to Twain’s hometown of Hannibal, Missouri. On one level, this is the prototypical tale of one boy’s innocence and how he lost it, but it’s also a profound evocation of the national character that Twain, an odd combination of independent thinker and moralist, clearly thought needed some analyzing.

Good story about growing up. Mark Twain beautifully captures a young boys actions in the process of growing into a man.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is my favorite book. Tom is a mischievous young boy who gets into all sorts of trouble. He has a big crush on a new girl named Becky Thatcher, and would do anything for her. He witnesses a grave robbery and murder with his friend Huck Finn. He even runs away with his friends and people assume he's dead. Tom can always talk himself out of a scrape, and can even get kids to take his punishments AND pay him! This is a wonderful book about a fun and daring childhood.

This book is amazing. I just finished reading this and I laughed throughout the entire book. This book is another Tom Sawyer book and it was absolutely insane. This is a pretty easy book to read and Tom Sawyer reminds me of myself, which actually makes sense! I really recommend this book.
