This book is the perfect pick for anyone who likes slightly-spooky mysteries with amazing endings. I completely and totally loved this book. After receiving it from a Dogo freebie last year, I've read it at least 5 times because it was so amazing. Jacob follows his grandfather's mysterious last words to go to a loop, with a bird, September 3rd, 1940. He soon finds himself on the small island of Cairnholm, in which he tracks down the big children's home his grandfather had sought refuge in during World War II. Jacob finds the place wrecked and crumbling, until he finds a trunk filled to the brim with the fantastically eery photographs his grandfather had shown him of his children's home friends, who all had a peculiar ability. Jacob had always thought they were fairy tales... until he stumbles through a cairn bog and finds himself in September 3rd, 1940. All the kids from the photographs are there. And they all have peculiar abilities, like levitation, super strength, futuristic dreams... Is Jacob one of them? Jacob goes through a spectacular journey to figure out what happened to his grandfather, who these children are and why they are still alive, and ultimately, how to find himself. In this amazing book, you will meet unforgettable characters and stories that will make you race to find the sequel. This is one of my favorite books, and I'm sure you will enjoy it too. Because of the occasional spookiness and language, I recommend this book for ages 12 and up.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead So, I thought this book was good. It had amazing character development, fascinating backstories, and I loved how the pictures fit so well in the book. I loved Emma's character, and how realistically she felt about Jacob, and how the settings in this book were so detailed and different than the other. I liked how Jacob actually thought about his family instead of having them completely thrown out the story. I'm especially intrigued by Millard, and his love for knowledge (particularly about Peculiars) and I thought the the entire history of Peculiars and how the Wights were looking for Peculairs' souls was very original. The humor in this book is perfect, and I love the interactions between all of them. I love how Bronwyn is sort of like a mother/big sister towards Claire and Olive. The cliffhanger at the end was perfect, and I don't think I would a change a thing about this book. AWESOME BOOK 10/10

In this very strangely structured but good novel, a powerful entity, Death, tells us about strange humans. How they are very peculiar, for example, words. They are evil and extremely dangerous, yet beautiful. Death then proceeds to inform us of a story that perfectly embodies the humanness of humans, a story of book thieving and Germany. In 1939, it seems that a girl by the name of Liesel Meminger moves into a quaint town named Molching, based on Olching, near the great city of Munich. So days go by, and being very perturbed by her lack of reading-ability, the Book Thief–Liesel practices reading in the basement with her foster father Hans. And that is how the Book Thief learns about the power of words and books. But the lives of the Hubermanns, Liesel's foster parents, get turned upside down when a mysterious Jew by the name of Max Vandenburg arrives. Apparently, Hans has sort of rashly decided to help the son of his dead friend. Much pain and suffering and bombs and death and war follow. The writing style is like nothing I have seen before. There are many long, metaphorical sentences. And short ones too. The author, Markus Zusak, is clearly very good at this because the storytelling is awesome. Though I wouldn't recommend this for people in need of short and easy reads, as it takes concentration to read. But overall, I think you should probably read this if you are interested in Germany or historical fiction or a thought-provoking book.

This romance made me feel like I was in the clouds. I actually read this as an e-book, and that says something. If you know me, then you'll know that I prefer a physical book to words on a screen, but this book was so captivating, I couldn't just leave it there on my tablet! Three cheers for Kasie West!

“This Summer, Billy dickens will fly across the country, hike a mountain, float a river, dodge a grizzly bear, shoot down a spy drone, save a neighbour’s cat, save an endangered panther, and then try to save his own father.” As soon as I saw these words I knew this was the book for me. And I was right! I love Carl Hiaasen’s books, he is such a creative writer and I loved Billy, his sister Belinda, and his mom who was this weird obsession was eagles, and his dad who has this super dangerous catching poachers job and Little Thunder-sky, “Lil” for short, and lastly, my favourite, Summer. She’s Lil’s daughter and also Billy’s father’s daughter. You should definetely read this book!

This book perfectly captures life in middle school! Rachel Vail gets everything; revenge, new friends and old friends, relationships. And the not so cool stuff, too; bullying, in person and on line, backstabbing and all that's in between. A great read for both guys and girls, from several different points of view, this story will never let you put it down!!!

This is an amazing book! Already read through the series 5 times. Highly recommended. If you like fighting books and books about training and stuff this is the book for you.

Stormbreaker is a scientific and adventure novel by Anthony Horowitz and is the most thrilling book I've read this semester. The character, Alex Rider, is a normal teen who lives with his uncle. But after his uncle's death, he founds out that his uncle is a secret agent and soon carries on his mission. Along the way, he faces different challenges and has to figure out how to save the world before the Stormbreaker computers "invade" Earth. I really like Alex because he is really brave, strong, intelligent, and is always up for a new challenge. One of my favorite scenes is when he is almost killed by Baron, but one of the workers help him escape. I was super nervous when I was reading that chapter and it was really a cliff-hanger that I didn't expect. This book is perfect for teens that like sci-fi but more realistic than fantasies, it's an amazing book!

Winnie is fourteen now and moving on to high school.Not only is she facing problems with Bo but Sandra is also leaving to college pretty soon.They have one moment and its fantastic.Though they get caught because Ty went on a field trip and stole a penguin so they had to take it back but run into a security guard.While Bo only gives Winnie a Starbucks card for her birthday Winnie hates him.For summer Winnie goes to camp but Bo was supposed tto go somewhere far away but doesn't end up going.He wants Winnie tom come back but she can't.While a big surprise for her comes to camp she is truly excited because that was what she wished for on her birthday.Cinnamon and Dinah are great friends.Dinah gets suspended because of Mary who stuffed makeup in her locker which she robbed.Cinnamon breaks up with her boyfriend which was Bo's best friend so if they know Bo's there Cinnamon's ex-boyfriend is going to be there too.Is it too much for Winnie to handle or can she handle it?
