Tuck para siempre
By Natalie Babbitt
such a good book. This is about a 10-11 year old girl named Winnie, who wants to run away. So, she wanders off into the family's wood, where she ends up to a place where she sees a teenage boy, drinking water. His name is Jesse. He says she shouldn't drink the water, and manages to pull her away. We later find out that the water is like a youth fountain, but in this case makes you live forever. Jesse drank it because he already drank it before with his family. (Tuck, Mae, and his brother Miles.) Tuck regrets drinking it, and Jesse is delighted. Winnie gets kidnapped by them in a friendly way, and then his mom, Mae, and his brother, Miles, come with a horse and take her back to their small cottage. Before all of this, a strange man who is called, "The Man in the Yellow Suit", is very suspicious around them, and of course that is where all the trouble occurs. The man follows them home, and steals their horse. Some other crazy things happen, but I won't spoil the whole book, even though I spoiled already like half of it. Really good book. I would probably rate it 4.5 stars out of 5. Read it.(No, I don't speak Spanish)
Geronimo Stilton, Secret Agent (Geronimo Stilton, No. 34)
By Geronimo Stilton
I love these series!! This is a really great book!
The Compound
By S. A. Bodeen
I discovered this book about a year ago and wanted to read it all school year. Finally, I got to read it a few weeks ago, and it was most certainly worth the wait. It begins by telling the story of the Yanakakis family, the most famous and rich family on the earth. They are living in an underground compound, however, because of a nuclear attack 6 years ago. 6 years in a compound is driving Eli's father insane, and Eli and his sisters realize that they need to get out. This book is a thriller that keeps the pages turning. It's slightly morbid and it's a long wait for the book, but definitely worth it.
Woods Runner
By Gary Paulsen
I thought this book was truly incredible. Samuel was just a kid living the Revolutionary War time period when his parents got kidnapped by the British. Samuel went on a journey to save his parents. He met new friends like Abner, who helped a lot, and Annie, a sweet young girl who is now his sister. He has to do incredibly dangerous things to save his parents. It will leave you puzzled, have you on the edge of your seat, and touch your heart. You must read it.
Every Thing On It
By Shel Silverstein
This book is super. Shel Silverstein is my hero. I recommend it to anyone who likes humor. It is a big jumble of funny poems. One of my favorite poems is Wrong Way. In it a kid says to bury him up to his neck in the sand so they bury him from the top of his head to his neck (upside down).
The Case of the Missing Moonstone (The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency, Book 1)
By Jordan Stratford
This book is about two highly intelligent young girls, Ada and Mary, who come together to form The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency. Ada is gifted in math and science (book smarts) and Mary is gifted in noticing people's emotions (people smarts). Their first case is about a missing bejeweled acorn that was stolen in the middle of the night. The owner of the acorn, Rebecca, tells the girls that her maid, Rosie, had confessed that she took it, but was unable to give it back. Rebecca is positive that Rosie did not steal the acorn and hires Ada and Mary to figure out who did.
The Crims #3: The Crims at Sea
By Kate Davies
This is an amazing third book of The Crims series. It shows how much family matters even if your criminals!
Horrible Harry and the Ant Invasion
By Suzy Kline
Harry is back, along with Miss Mackle and the entire class of Rooom 2B. Harry's name always spells trouble, but no matter what he does, it's always hilarious. "Room 2B is every child's dream."--School Library Journal. Illustrated.
Mia Hamm (Real-Life Reader Biography)
By John Albert Torres
Mia Hamm was a fast rising soccer star. This book tells you about the life of Mia and difficulties she faced. Mia suffered scoring droughts, confidence loss, and the lost of her brother. I play soccer, and reading this book helped me want to be better. I really enjoyed reading this book, and thought that the way they explained Mia's life made it very easy to understand. Mia is a soccer player that is still remembered today. She set records and had many moments to be remembered throughout her career.
Falling Over Sideways
By Jordan Sonnenblick
I love this book!! I recommend this book for people who like novels and realistic fiction. Claire Goldsmith is an 8th grader who is going through so many problems, such as her dance friends leaping their way to the high school dancing level while she is stuck dancing with 11-year-old pipsqueaks, and the fact that the bullies in her school have gotten worse (Ryder Scott, to be specific), but those problems are nothing compared to what her father is going through. Meanwhile, she has a science teacher who compares everyone to her perfect daughter, Meredith, and her dance school's Dad Dance, and Claire isn't sure if she'll survive 8th grade...
