Alien Superstar (Book 2)
By Lin Oliver, Henry Winkler
Buddy C. Burger is back, and more famous than he thought he ever would be. He's starring in a sitcom as his true self, an alien; though no one but Cassidy and Luis, his two best friends, knows. But as Buddy continues his acting career, things start to go wrong. A nosy photographer is trying to get close to Buddy, someone tries to yank at his sensory enhancer at a Nike store, and Martha starts to act differently. It's then that Buddy realizes that he and his friends might not be the only ones who know his true identity, and that the others who do might not be as they seem... And if that's not bad enough, Buddy starts to feel his friendship with Cassidy starting to fade, and soon he's kicked out of her house. Things with Luis aren't going so well either when Buddy is forced to leave him behind at a convention. Without his friends, his body starts to become weaker. He is not getting the nutrients he needs, and when he needs it the most, will it be there? Will Buddy find a way to get back his friendships with his best friends, or will he have to leave to his home planet because of something he should have noticed a while ago with the people who hate him? And what if the people aren't really people? What if they came to take Buddy home? I really liked this book, and I thank DOGO for letting me own this book from a giveaway! I hope you guys have read this review and decide to read this book, because I'm sure you won't regret it!
Happy New Year, Mallory!
By Laurie Friedman
I loved the Mallory series ever since I started to read chapter books at the age of 5+ and I still love this series and "Happy New Year, Mallory!" is one of my favorite books. If you want to read this, this may be a spoiler alert. Mallory can't wait till the New Year's reunion with a 2 friends from Camp Lake and her bestest friend Mary Ann but her tummy doesn't really feel good and she has no interest in eating ANYTHING!!! Not even her grandma's famous muffins which are her favorite but she just thinks she excited but then everything changes. She has to be rushed to the hospital to get a appenix removed, it seems like her friends forgot about her, and instead of having a fun New Year's with her friends and family, she has to spend New Year's in the hospital. But Mallory didn't know her friends and family threw a surprise party for her!!! And she learned even though things don't happen the way you wanted it to be, it will always come with an happy ending. Don't forget to check out the rest of the Mallory series and share this book with other Mallory lovers. Hugs and kisses, scigirlronni. P.S. Don't forget to check out Mallory's website

When Captain Holly Short takes a look, she has no other option but to declare a case of Spelltropy, a fairy disease that was thought to have been rid of years ago, but has apparently been spread to humans. The only cure for Spelltropy is the brain fluid of the silky sifaka, a lemur drove to extinction eight years ago, by ten-year-old Artemis Fowl himself. Now, in order to save his mother, Artemis the elder must travel back in time to prevent himself from selling the lemur to the odious Dr. Kronski, president of the Extinctionists. But after saving the world from megalomaniac pixies and power-crazed demons, has Artemis Fowl met his match- himself? Along the way, Artemis may also run into some old friends- and some top archenemies.

Flowers for Algernon
By Daniel Keyes
Flowers for Algernon features mentally impaired Charlie Gordon who is to keep a progress report journal so that neurosurgeons Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss could keep track of his intelligence growth. Charlie was born with an under-average IQ of 68 and had a weak creative intelligence. However, he was always motivated to be smart because he feels he will be just like everyone else if he keeps trying. The doctors soon gave him an operation that was to triple his IQ to 204 (which would be above genius). He soon became friends with a white mouse named Algernon who also went through the same operation as Charlie to become smart. Both Charlie and Algernon completed mazes every day to test their intelligence. Charlie was originally made fun of at work for being "mentally retarded" but he was soon fired because he became a genius within a week. Everyone thought he was strange and he became more lonely. Algernon sadly reached the side effects of the operation and lost its life. Charlie was soon losing his intelligence rapidly and his ability to read and write fluently. When Algernon died, Charlie put flowers on its grave for the loss of his best friend. Charlie decided to start a new life in New York where no one would know he was a genius once. Honestly, this book was very touching and portrayed that it is not a person's fault they are not perceived to be smart. We also learn that an IQ cannot measure the full capability of a person's mind.
When the Sea Turned to Silver
By Grace Lin
“When the Sea Turned to Silver” is an amazing book that takes us into a story with Pinmei, her grandmother called the Storyteller, and a young boy called Yishan. Pinmei is a silent girl that can’t really talk in front of strangers, and only shows her personality to her grandmother (whom she called Amah). But one day, the Emperor takes Pinmei’s Amah away! Pinmei is confused and devastated. After Yishan saves her from her burning hut, the two embark on a perilous journey to save Amah and in search of the Luminous Stone That Lights The Night. They meet a beautiful woman named Lady Meng, ride a LongMa (a dragon horse), meet the Sea King, and find out so much stuff about old stories in China. And if you want to know the end of the story, Pinmei was reunited with her Amah, and Yishan actually was the Old Man of the Moon! Anyways, Grace Lin is an amazing author and I have to give this book 4 stars. Thanks for reading. - reapu
