Timmy Failure: It's the End When I Say It's the End
By Stephan Pastis
and here is short summary: the series finale, Timmy Failure and his class create a hilarious film about his life — just in time for the holidays. Though I, Timmy Failure, have solved many notorious crimes and now wish to enjoy my retirement, my fans have begged me to turn my memoirs into a movie, an ode to my greatness. I am, however, beset by enemies, the worst of whom is Tom John John, the buffoonish movie director. What’s more, my father is in town, working at a bar, which is obviously just a cover for our father-son crime-fighting partnership. And my dim-witted polar bear business partner, Total, wants to be reunited with his family. I should have known it would end like this. I expected more.
Growing Up with Aloha: A Nanea Classic 1 (American Girl Beforever Classic)
By Kirby Larson
When I received this book from DOGObooks, I was thrilled to start reading! Nanea Mitchell is a 9-year-old girl who is growing up during the beginning of World War II in Hawaii. Nanea is tired of being called the baby of the family and is determined to prove herself responsible by winning a 'Helping Hand' contest with the help of her 2 best friends, Lily and Donna. But after the attacks by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, where Nanea's dad works, the contest doesn't seem to matter anymore. Lily's father has been taken away, and Donna and her mother might have to leave Hawaii because they are labeled "unnecessary" by the government! Plus, Nanea's beloved puppy is missing! Everything is a mess. Nanea doesn't know what to do besides try to help out as much as she can. But being a kid amidst the war, it will be hard. Will life in Hawaii ever be the same? This book is outstanding! I didn't know too much about Pearl Harbor before reading this book, but now I've learned a lot! This book has humor, adventure, and a twist at the end that will make you want to read the sequel! I recommend this book for kids 8+!
Hunting for Hidden Gold (The Hardy Boys, No. 5)
By Franklin W. Dixon
Gold is stolen from a camp with miners, and now it's up to Fentan HArdy to solve the mystery theft. Who took the gold? Unfortunatly, he gets injured. Lucky for him, his sons, Joe and Frank, help him on the case. Will thehy be able to turn the theives over to the sherrif, or will they be the laughing stock of their village? This book was good! I think this series is the second best mystery series after Nancy Drew.
The Mystery of Cabin Island (Hardy Boys, Book 8)
By Franklin W. Dixon
This book was okay. I maen, I loved it, but it wasn't as good as the others. It wasn't fast paced. Medals are stolen, and Hardy boys Joe and Frank are in charge of finding the thief. But things happen. Their boat gets sabotaged. What will happen now? There are actually two mysteries in this book, so it had a good plot.
Alexis Cupcake Crush (Cupcake Diaries)
By Coco Simon
No one can deny Alexis Becker's smarts! In this new Alexis novel, she is determined to incorporate her passion for cupcakes with her hopefully-first-prize-winning science fair project. She's decided to research healthy cupcakes, but the problem is, there aren't many healthy cupcake recipes even cooking whiz Katie Brown can concoct that are truly healthy, lovely appearance-wise, good-smelling, and original. Alexis is dejected, but she's also hopeful, seeing it as a chance to ask the love of her life, Matt, to help her! But when she realizes that Matt is working with the pretty, fresh, fun Samantha Perry, Alexis can't hide her jealousy. She isn't usually an envious girl, but she can't help it this time. Love intermingles with science in a true show of "chemistry" (hehe great joke huh?) in this sweet book.
Judy Moody, Mood Martian
By Megan McDonald
This is about Judy trying to be in a good mood for a whole week.her friends and her little brother Stink thinks she is a alien. I really like this book because it has a lot of humor. I also like it because Judy is a little more girly.I really like Judy Moody's books. But it was a little easy. Over all it was great!
The House on the Cliff (Hardy Boys)
By Franklin W. Dixon
I think this is the second book in this series, but I'm reading these out of order, and it doesn't really matter. The Hardy Boys are investagating a house that is, of course, on a cliff. They have left because os an anynomous scream however. And now they have to figure out what's wrong with the house, all while they help their dad with a smuggling case. ARe these two things tied together, or is it just a mistake? .
Sweet Tooth
By Margie Palatini
Stewart is not the typical kid you will find, and here's why: You probably would not expect someone yelling "Give me chocolate" in the middle of a lesson. But here's the catch- It's not Stewart; he has a talking sweet tooth that is pretty disturbing. The sweet tooth makes him do things like eating too much candy, chocolate, and more. Stewart has to take action- and he does by eating healthy. At first, it is hard, of course; but he gets the flow of it. The sweet tooth annoys him even more when he disturbs a baseball game. Will he get rid of it- or will the sweet tooth continue pestering him? Margie brings an exceptional book that everyone will love.
