Summer of the Sea Serpent (Magic Tree House, No. 31)
By Mary Pope Osborne
Have you ever wanted to travel through a Magic treehouse through books sent from Camelot? If so then you want to come with Jack and Annie on a nuts adventure! Doing all these crazy adventures that I would never think about doing especially in this book when they have to do tasks for Merlin the Wizard of Camalot. I would recommend this book ages 9-12 because this book is full of the craziest adventure in the series as my favorite part how they have to face a giant SERPENTINE. Can Jack and Annie get the sword to Merlin before it's too late? Read Magic Treehouse Summer of the Sea Serpent to find out.
The Witches
By Roald Dahl
This story is about a boy who lived with his grandmother in Norway. They wanted to get rid of all the horrible witches in England and MOSTLY of the wicked GRAND HIGH WITCH who is the one who rules all the cruel witches. But there was a problem.......... What will happen when they go to the Hotel Magnificent? Who are they going to meet? Will boy and his grandmother get what they want? I enjoyed this book because it gives you a lot of suspense. Roald Dahl shows that he is on the children´s side. My favourite part of the story is when boy puts the mouse maker in the soup.I love the way Roald Dahl invents words and makes his characters REALLY interesting. I recommend this book to children who are 8 or more years old. This book is just right for the ones who like adventures and suspense. Roald Dahl is a fantastic writer because he uses a lot of adjectives, he describes very well and includes suspense in the stories.
Took: A Ghost Story
By Mary Downing Hahn
I think this book is fair because it’s suspenseful. The main character, Daniel, has just moved to West Virginia with his family. Daniel and his little sister, Erica, suspect something suspicious around their house and they feel like someone’s always watching them. Old Auntie, an evil witch that lives nearby, spies on them. She plans to take Erica and use her as a servant for 50 years and then let her go, like she did for other girls. Daniel’s family doesn’t believe in Old Auntie, but everybody in their town says that she’s real. Old Auntie lured Erica into her cabin through a doll that Erica always talks to about Old Auntie, although nobody else can hear it. Daniel and Erica go into the woods, where Old Auntie lives because they were searching for Erica’s doll. Erica runs away because Daniel was being mean to her, and then later gets taken by Old Auntie. Daniel goes to one of Old Auntie’s descendants, who wanted to help him, and learns the only way to get his sister back. Daniel learns that Old Auntie is real when he confronts her, and takes her sister back and runs home. I think that this book could be better, because the end isn’t interesting. In the resolution, Daniel gets his sister back and Old Auntie is destroyed. If Old Auntie was still chasing after Daniel, the story could be more interesting if everybody saw Old Auntie, especially Daniel’s parents. Also, if the story didn’t end the way Daniel wanted it to end, it wouldn’t be as boring. It’s almost like a fairy tale, because it ends happily and it has an unrealistic character in it. I think that this book would have a good cliffhanger which would be able to start another book, but the author ended it in a way that makes readers not think or wonder about the book at all afterwards.
Dragonwatch: A Fablehaven Adventure
By Brandon Mull
this book is the best! Its about a brother and sister who have previous experiences the world of Fablehaven (series is called Fablehaven, totally recommend it ) and they are recruited to be the new caretakers of the dragon sanctuary Wyrmoost, to prevent a dragon uprising. This is an amazing book and I totally recommend it if you liked the prequel series Fablehaven.

The Carpet People
By Terry Pratchett
The CARPET. To the carpet people, its vastness knows no bounds. These tiny people are so small that their city, Ware is the size of a period. But living on the carpet can have its dangers. For example, FRAY, the absolutely terrifying natural phenomenon that destroys entire cities. One day the members of the Munrung tribe are peacefully minding their own business when suddenly, FRAY destroys the village! So Snibril, a Munrung, and his brother, Glurk lead the tribe across the Carpet. BUT, they run into Mouls, evil beings who use Fray to conquer cities. How will Snibril stop the Mouls? And where will they settle? The book was really funny and I liked it.

By Ally Carter
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book and this was the reason I kept reading the series. Cammie Morgan's mother is the headmistress of Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. (A spy school in other words) The girls there know a TON of different languages, take tai kwon do in P.E, and a lot of other cool stuff. But there is one thing that the school HASN'T trained Cammie for-dealing with a regualar teen boy crush.
