Title : The Spiderwick Chronicles Author: tony Diterlizzi & holly black Genre: fantasy and fiction I chose 3 for my rating because it's just right. I didn't learn anything from the book. The challenge didnt help me. I found the book a little interesting. Nothing surprised me. I would recommend this book to grades 3-7 because it's just right.

The mini, Wild Girl, reminds her of what her mother called her when she was younger, before she died. Her brother, Rafael, is training to be a Jockey. Now it's left for Lidie to make her life in New York City. ''They don’t even know what a strong rider she is, and that she’s determined to befriend and ride the wild filly her father has just bought: Wild Girl.'', this book will get you hooked.

Red Scarf Girl by Ji-Li Lang is a historical memoir about the cultural revolution when Chairman Mao was in charge. Everyone under Mao's rule was brainwashed to think Mao was the best people who held on to old tradition were to be punished and anyone who had any relation to a person with a job that was frowned upon was to be jailed. Overall it seems like it could be an interesting story but I don't like how the story was built. It was hard to follow and it was honestly kind of boring. I do recommend it for people who are very serious readers and don't care if something is a bit boring. I think this book is for people ages 10-12.

We Were Liars is fascinating. The writing style is very concise, and while there is fabulous description of the island that the Sinclairs occupy every summer, there's also an underlying eerie note that makes it all the more interesting to read about. The setting seems intricately real, what with the shimmering waters and the seashells and ice cream. Cadence, Mirren, Johnny, and Gat are easily distinguishable and entertaining. The gradual family tension among the Sinclairs is well-developed, and the plot twist at the end had me reeling. However, I definitely didn't like this book right from the start. The writing is a bit peculiar and jerky at times, and Cadence (who narrates the story) seemed quite whiny. I did warm up to the novel once more problems were woven into the plot. Sometimes, though, there was a weird feeling, as if these problems weren't as big as they really were. For example, the twist at the end was executed in an almost anticlimactic way. It's sort of just...confusion for a few chapters or so. Once I understood, though, I really liked the ending. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book as a lighter read, though I did have a few problems with it. The descriptions are marvelous and the overall idea is very unique.

What if your job was pre-chosen and everything you will do in life is already decided- a world were you’ll die if you disobey. If that’s where you could live, would you do it? In The Messenger by Lois Lowry, watch as Matty goes through the forest and how he deals with his new job as the messenger. The story takes place in a small town thats surrounded by a dark forest. Matty is chosen for messenger a person that’s allowed to go into the forest with out getting punished. When matty goes into the forest and gets caught he gets punished by the leader but this will change. Matty discorvers a person in the forest and his conflicting ideals keep him from telling the truth. Also matty tries to come to grep with the truth surrounding the forest. Which makes the reader think about the deep psychological effects that influence the forest. This gives the reader a sense of uneasiness but it also leaves the reader confused at some point through the story which made it hard to read. When I take the time it's more than worth reading it even if you I can't understand it sometimes. This is why I think it's worth reading for people that like mysteries and want to get actively think while their reading.

Title :Sunny rolls the dice Author: Jennifer L Holm & Matthew Holm Genre:autobiography/ Memoir I chose two for my rating because It was kind of challenging.I didn't learn anything from the book Sunny rolls the dice. what I found interesting about the book was that sunny Only cares about what her friends think about her and not what she thinks about herself. I would recommend this book too grades 3-6 because it is kind of challenging.

I thoroughly enjoyed the reading experience of Talons of Power, never finding myself uninterested. That being said, I think this is definitely the weakest book in the second arc and most of the book can be classified as filler. 3 stars. Before I get into my issues, let me preface this by saying I adore the Wings of Fire books and consider this one of my all time favorite middle grade series. My critiques of this book do not change that, and 3 stars is a positive rating for me. Other than the last 20 pages or so, this book is the same thing happening over and over again. Turtle follows Darkstalker, waiting for him to do something evil, Darkstalker doesn’t. Repeat for 200 pages. Turtle is a very…passive character. He spends nearly the entire book “invisible” and just hanging out observing everyone else. He rarely takes matters into his own hands, which I recognize is part of his character but it makes him so much less interesting compared to the other main characters like Moon or Peril. Turtle is so infrequently involved in the story that he didn’t even feel like the main character. Most of this book is slow and repetitive. A lot of the plot serves to bridge the gap to the series finale. Though I was let down by this penultimate novel, I still enjoyed reading it. I love this series and world. The characters of this arc are extremely endearing. I’ve been reading Tui’s writing since I was very young, so I’m always happy to jump into her stories. I’m still super hyped for the finale. There are so many ways this could go, and I can’t wait to see. Not to mention I think Qibli is the main character of the final book, and he is one of my favorites!

Many have grown to love the BSC series, but how was this brilliant business started? With teamwork, stick-to-itiveness, and business skills, the four friends build a strong business. I thought this book was great! It is the first book but unlike most first books of series, this one immediately gets you invested and interested in the entire series. This book teaches entrepreneur skills. It is fun to read, funny, and all about babysitting. This is a great book to welcome readers into an even greater series. I suggest if you like friendship, business starting, and babysitting.
