The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas
By Ursula K. Le Guin
Elizabeth
This book is awesome! It gives a really good lesson. I love it!
Scarlet Pimpernel
By Baroness Orczy
I would not recommend this book to a lot of people. This was such a confusing book. It was quite easy to guess who the "secret" man/woman was. Plus when they told you who it was, it was quite hard to understand what they were trying to say.
Queen of Hearts
By Colleen Oakes
My biggest issue with the book was that I had a hard time engaging in the story and I struggled to finish it. I probably would have stopped if it wasn't an ARC. I did like the idea of the of the backstory of the Queen of Hearts. How she become the evil Queen of Hearts, but to be the book dragged on never really picking up. I was hoping this book would be like Splintered (by A.G. Howard) but nope it wasn't anything like it. Pros: Does have some interesting takes on traditional Wonderland characters. Such as her brother is the Mad Hatter and is actually crazy. Not romanced focus (per say) it's more on becoming queen of Wonderland, her daddy issues, and jealously of new found sister. Cons: Could have done more, been more creative, been more wacky (it's Wonderland for Pete's sake). Especially since it is written from the villains side there is potential there for a good story. Note: that cover is so cute using the queen of hearts card. *Thank you to Edelweiss and HarperTeen for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Blood of Wonderland (Queen of Hearts)
By Colleen Oakes
Being the second book in the series doesn't mean it gets any worse. Dinah has the Spades and the Yurkei people and some others willing to fight the king. They get prepared for battle, but Dinah's head is swarming with weird (and possibly dark) thoughts.
War of the Cards (Queen of Hearts)
By Colleen Oakes
This is the last book in the trilogy! It's really cool and filled with a lot of action as Dinah wages a war against the King of Hearts. The deaths of the many people she killed are put on her shoulders. She struggles with betrayal and heartache.
Mary Poppins Series (4 Book Series)
By P. L. Travers, P. L. Travers
These books.. where do I start? I loved it! I got the entire series for Christmas, and finally finished...three years ago? When I was little I wanted to BE Mary Poppins. I mean seriously, who doesn't? This is one of my all-time favorites, and Travers really does a good job bringing the characters to life, to the point where you wouldn't be surprised to see them walking the streets or in your school.
Peter Pan Step into Reading (Disney Peter Pan)
By RH Disney
Gerson
I like this book beacause if you see the animation it is realistic fiction
Gulliver's Travels
By Jonathan Swift
This book is about a man and how he travels to different places. Sometimes he's a giant, other times he is extremely small. I rate this book 4 stars because it was a little confusing at times. There is a movie about this book, that is extremely good!! I recommend this book to the people who like classics and adventure. Read this book and watch the movie to learn all about Gulliver's Travels!
