Ever since their mom's death, Sadie and Carter Kane have lived separate lives. Sadie is a cool middle schooler who dyes her hair and lives with her grandparents. Carter is the nerdy kid in a suit who travel the world with his archeologist father. They hardly ever see each other, and have nothing in common. But when a mysterious incident occurs and their father goes missing, Carter and Sadie Kane are thrust into a strange world where magic is real, and the egyptian gods and goddesses are real. Now Carter and Sadie must master their newfound abilities and set off on a wild quest to save their father and stop the end of the world. And along the way, Sadie and Carter may realize that their not so different after all. It's like the egyptian version of Percy Jackson, and any fans of Percy would really enjoy this book. I'd say its an action adventure themed book and probably for ages 10-18, depending on your interests. If you begin this book, you won't be able to put it down (trust me, I know from experience).

First there's Harry Houdini, the all famous escape artist and magician who is famous for escaping death, until he tragically died in 1926. And then there's Harry Mancini, a twentieth century kid who wasn't named after Houdini. Harry Mancini was born in the house that Houdini lived in though, which probably explains why Harry knows everything there is to know about the former occupant of his house. But after an accident that involved a tunnel, a train, a quarter, a nickel, four pennies, and a really bad decision, Harry Mancini gets a mysterious gift from a stranger, an old flip phone that, to Harry's disappointment doesn't work. But soon Harry starts receiving text messages from someone who claims to be Houdini! Harry doesn't believe it at first, but when the evidence starts piling up, and Houdini wants Harry to switch places with him, he wonders.... could Harry Houdini being trying out his most famous escape of all, escaping from death itself? This book is a fantastic read and is filled with all sorts of true facts about Harry Houdini and his life, and its a great message about how friends stick up for each other, and how easy it is to face your fears.

A fantastic retelling, It's Oliver Twist with a twist (Pun intended). Oliver Twist was a girl. I really can't think of any other way to say it. But when young Ollie was reunited with HER long lost uncle, She went from scrappy orphan Oliver Twist, to Beautiful miss Olivia Brownlow. And now she lives a comfortable life that is a far cry from her old one. But the past that Olivia has so long tried to bury resurfaces, and Olivia finds her old friend, Dodger, now Jack, trying to bury his past as well. And before long, against all odds, Olivia finds herself in love with the handsome young gentleman Dodger has become. But as hard as Olivia and Jack try, they just can't seem to bury the past, and as another street lord arises, along with another long lost relative, Olivia and Jack must remember their past and do everything they can to protect the ones they love, even if it ends in death. The Author did a fantastic job weaving the old story to her new one, and I definitely recommend this book. However, it is geared towards a more mature audience, I would say 13+. And I would place it in the category of Romance, with a little bit of mystery and a tinge of action/adventure.

I was wondering if Dogo does the writing/drawing contests anymore, because there hasn't been one since I joined Dogo and I'm eager to compete.
