Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

I love this book and I think people should read this if they like adventure.
It started quickly. And I like books that start quickly. I also liked the parts about the mythacal creatures and Greek gods.
If you like Greek Mythology, you will probably like the Percy Jackson series. Percy, his super awesome mom, and stinky step-dad live together in a house. His mom insists that he goes to a summer camp, but Percy has a feeling that it isn't just any summer camp. On his way there, his best friend, Grover, comes along with him. Grover has a big appetite. When it comes to apples or enchiladas, he is up for it. No matter what, Grover always has the courage to stand up for his best friend. This goes before The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of The Labyrinth, and the Last Olympian.
i think that this book is interesting because usually well you are dyslectic you have trouble spelling but you are not able to read greek.
The book is awesome the story line is good for now! and it's a great book to read and Percy ain't SCARED OF NO ONE
Haven't read but I have read the start and it's already cool
After Percy Jackson discovers he is a demigod -- half human, half god -- he goes on an adventure across the United States to get to the Underworld, recover the stolen master lighting bolt and rescue his mother. This book is filled with adventure funny dialogue, and lots of sarcasm. Percy is a lovable character, and he is well written, three-dimensional character. I loved the secondary characters too. The ending chapters were totally unexpected, but well-received. The rest of the saga is just as good as the first book.
Just got done reading this series, it felt like the characters and scene came alive around me, for how much illustration there was in words. Annabeth is so amazing.
AWESOME SERIES! I love the Percy Jackson series. I also really love the Hero's of Olympus because they are really interesting. I hope Rick Riordan never stops writing them!
