You are invited to a Genovian Royal Wedding in this second book pulled FROM THE NOTEBOOKS OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCESS, a Princess Diaries spin-off series, written and illustrated by New York Times-bestselling author Meg Cabot.

Olivia Grace Clarisse Mignonette Harrison still finds it hard to believe that she's a real live PRINCESS OF GENOVIA. Not only does she get to live in an actual palace with her newly discovered family and two fabulous poodles (who all love her and think that she's anything but ordinary!) but she also gets her very own PONY!

Of course, things aren't going exactly like she imagined. Her half-sister Mia is very busy learning how to take over the country while trying to plan a wedding and her father is actually getting remarried himself-to Mia's mother!-and spends most of his time "renovating" the summer palace, although Grandmere says he is just hiding from the wedding preparations. Olivia hardly gets to see either of them.

Fortunately, Grandmere has her own plans for Mia's wedding, and needs Olivia's help to pull them off. Just when Olivia starts to think that things are going to work out after all, the palace is invaded by a host of new cousins and other royals who all seem to be angry at Olivia (although Grandmere says they are just jealous).

As the day of the wedding gets closer and closer, Olivia becomes more and more worried. For such a carefully planned event, it seems like a LOT of things are going wrong... Can Olivia keep this royal wedding from becoming a royal disaster?

I really liked this book even though I thought I wouldn't. I didn't read the first book in the series but reading this one made me want to ! Olivia found out that Mia is her half-sister and now she is living in the palace with the royal family. Everyone is running around trying to get ready for Mia's wedding because she is having twins. Olivia is excited about being a princess and the wedding ( she's supposed to carry Mia's train ) she just hopes everything will go well. But when she is made to go to princess school and her mean cousin is there ,will everything with the wedding go well or will it be a wedding disaster?

This was such an incredibly well-written middle-grade novel that somehow makes being a princess something that is very relatable. Meg Cabot did a fantastic job weaving the classic hilarity and warm-heartedness from the original Princess Diaries and relating to younger girls and their struggles with school, boys, and mean girls. I found myself nodding my head so many times throughout this book, whether it be from her horrible cousin who's rude for no particular reason, to best friends that will share everything and anything. I also loved the return of the old characters, such as Mia, Michael, and Grandmere and how they were perfectly incorporated into the story! Olivia is stuck in the middle of her sister Mia's wedding, and juggling dancing classes, regular classes, and some pretty creepy guys that have crushes on her at school. She somehow manages to handle all of this while maintaining how a princess should act. I would recommend this to any middle schooler (specifically girls) and I think they'll relate to it as much as I did!

Welcome to Genovia! When Olivia became a princess, she never signed up to take care of her little brother, dance with The Flexer, meet her annoying cousin, Louisa, and worst of all.... attend the Royal Genovian Academy! She realized that being a princess is way more different than one would expect... According to Nishi, Olivia's best friend, she replied back, "U have everything in the world anyone could ever dream of, including a pony and getting to sit next to a cute prince, and now ur acting princessy." NO! What Nishi said is completely false and the author builds up this relationship with Olivia and Nishi that shows best friends have their "ups and downs." Also Ms. Cabot showed different mediums in this book, for example she had drawings and actual text messages (of course with slang, because us kids are so tech-savvy). I really liked how the readers get to explore the mind of Olivia because we got to understand her a lot. A lot of authors have their background focused on school and usually the protagonist is a student with flaws and the antagonist as the "mean girl/bully" who seems completely flawless. What Ms. Cabot did as well is that she explored the topic about how many people have insecurities and people's physical appearances do not matter, one must have to understand their background history. Because no matter how much one may seem flawless, they really are not. I'm just going to spit the truth out. Everybody is human and because everybody is human, everybody has flaws. And the author really got to brush with this subject such as using Louisa and the Flexer. So who exactly is the Flexer? Well the Flexer is Prince Gunther and he has green hair and he picks his nose and it gets worse... He is Olivia's dance partner and he squeezes her fingers really hard while they are dancing...I'm pretty sure most of us are formulating some sort of judgement right now. But this exact concept is what Meg Cabot explores which makes me want to give her a hug because she explored this topic perfectly to explain towards kids. And this is not all of the story... I'm honestly surprised how Ms. Cabot was able to compact all this story information in this book... So Princess Mia Thermopolis... Remember her??? Gosh, the Princess Diaries is the most hilarious series ever (with a more mature taste)... I read most of the books in the Princess Diaries series and I was so excited when Princess Mia was one of the characters in this book. And the movies are the best... I personally like the second movie the best... but just watch it ore read those series!!! Anyways... Princess Mia needs to finish preparing for her marriage ceremony... but one thing... there's only a couple of days till the wedding (uh oh), many conflicts about the color of the dresses (white vs. purple), and the top part of the cake was eaten (DUN DUN DUNNING... wait by who???)! There are soooooo many problems right now while Olivia is just getting used to being a princess and finding friends. This book is amazing and all of you guys that want to princesses or princes should read this book to learn how to be a proper princess or prince because it's not about what you have. And just a couple more tips before I start rambling... "5 bathing suits is fine to pack.. because after all you can never have to many of anything except enemies," Grandmere is a very smart lady and when you dine with the royal subjects in Genovia, the bread plate on you left is yours and the glasses on your right is yours. This sweet, sentimental story about how a princess is learning about how the world works (also by getting trained by Grandmere), we go on a roller coaster with Olivia reading about the ups and downs... Enjoy!

I loved this book a lot. This book is a great elementary school read, and even though this was not a usual read for me, I still enjoyed it. Here is a sneak peek of this book... Olivia is a princess. Her step sister Mia is Queen of Genovia, and her royal wedding is coming up. Everyone is hurrying about, trying to get the biggest royal wedding ever organized ready. Olivia's friend Nishi is coming for the wedding, and it is going to be lots of fun. But things aren't going as well as they look. Olivia's Grandmere, the former Queen of Genovia, gets a letter that says that Olivia has to go to school, that he princess lessons arent enough. But the school that she will be going to is different than other schools. This one is the Academy for Royals, and Olivia is afraid that she won't fit in. Also, her rude, mean, and sassy cousin Louisa goes there too. Meanwhile, everyone is still going crazy over the wedding. Will everything work out, and will Olivia fit in? Read this great book to find out! I loved this book so so much!! My favorite characters are Mia, and Olivia, because they always calm everyone down, and have common sense. I think the message in this story is to be kind to others, even if they are not kind to you. This is a great fantasy book, that I think girls will really enjoy!!! I hope you enjoy this book!!!

What a big comment. But not as huge as bibliophiles.
