Miri lives on a mountain where, for generations, her ancestors have quarried stone and lived a simple life. Then word comes that the king's priests have divined her small village the home of the future princess. In a year's time, the prince himself will come and choose his bride from among the girls of the village. The king's ministers set up an academy on the mountain, and every teenage girl must attend and learn how to become a princess.
Miri soon finds herself confronted with a harsh academy mistress, bitter competition among the girls, and her own conflicting desires to be chosen and win the heart of her childhood best friend. But when bandits seek out the academy to kidnap the future princess, Miri must rally the girls together and use a power unique to the mountain dwellers to save herself and her classmates.

It was kind of fun to listen to my mom read it to me. It was about girls who were learning to be princesses to marry the prince.

great book confusing at times but also sad sweet and romantic at others. my mom read this too the whole family and we all loved it. definently would read again.

I really like Princess Academy. It's about this girl named Miri who lives in a small village on a mountain called Mount Eskel. Suddenly, her life is forever changed when all the Mount Eskel girls are sent to an academy to compete and prepare for royal life. But when danger arrives, Miri must find a way to save her friends and her village's future. It's a really captivating book, and I recommend it.

I really liked this book because it told the story of girls of were not princessess, but could be. Even though it was not their wish (although it may of came to be), all available girls of age in the land were sent of to "The Princess Academy". It sounds cheesy, but really it is preparing these girls to be potential brides of the coming of age Prince. While there, they learn history, culture, and well, princess things of course. It is a really great book and I am happy to have found out about the newer books that have been released in the series.

Miri lives on Mount Eskel with her sister and father. Everyone in the tiny village on the mountain works in the quarry harvesting linder a special kind of stone. Miri's father won't let her work in the quarry so she feels useless. Then one day a ambassador from the king comes and tells the villagers that the next princess will come from Mount Eskel. The villagers don't really want their girls to go because they need to help harvest the linder to get money to buy food to survive the winter. In the end it is decided that the girls will go. They have to attend an makeshift academy to learn how to be a princess. Miri isn't sure if she wants to be the princess if it means leaving Mount Eskel and her family, but she has to go anyway. This is a good story I liked it.

This book starts when Miri wakes up from the noise of a mountain goat (she lives in a mountain). Later that day Miri was taken to a princess academy where she and some other girls will learn to become the academy princess. Also if one of the girls talks without the teacher's permission the teacher gives them a slap with a stick on their hands and put them in a closet. At the end of princess academy Miri was chosen as the academy princess. At the end the prince will choose his bride to marry. Miri was not chosen and she was happy about that she was not chosen by Prince Stefan to marry him. I hope you like this review of The Princess Academy. :)

A good book. It tells the story of mountain girls being trained to become princesses, and the hardships and triumphs they face. I recommend this book.

YOU SHOULD REALLY READ THIS BOOK!!!!! I did;t think I'd like this book, but I really did, Shannon Hale is an excellent writer! Its about a teenage girl , Miri, who lives in a small, simple mountain village. Then word comes around that the future princess will be chosen by the prince, will come from her village. She has to go learn how to become a princess, with all the other teenager girls. She's not sure if se would like to be picked or not to be the princess, and the prince also happens to be her childhood best friends. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK, ITS AMAZING!!!

I did not like the Princess Academy book. The story was too complicated and not a princess story I thought it was going to be.
