This book reminds me of Rick Riordan's The Kane Chronicles, but without the humor or grounded plot line. The reader has absolutely no idea what is going on until halfway through the book and there is very little backstory for the plot line. This is not a book I would recommend unless you like straight action and next to no character development or plot line.

This is a hair raising tale. It is fun and sometimes scary, and it is action packed. I thought it was ok, but not like my style.
MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After reading the summary, I couldn't believe how interesting it was. The fact that there's Egyptian magic in it totally bought me. I just can't wait to select it as one of my summer reading prizes!
This is a good book if you liked Scholastics Spirit Animals series. I would recommend it for people around the age of 10 and 11.
In this book, Alex must go underground, travel through disgusting sewers, and nearly die, all for what? Meeting a misshapen, alive mummy that wants to kill him. First his mother disappears with the mysterious Lost Scrolls, then a jackal headed man fights him, and if that's not all, this deathly match's rule is kill or be killed. He must save NewYork- and his mother- before its to late.
