One small step for a mouse; one giant leap for aviation.

These are dark times . . . for a small mouse. A new invention—the mechanical mousetrap—has caused all the mice but one to flee to America, the land of the free. But with cats guarding the steamships, trans-Atlantic crossings are no longer safe. In the bleakest of places . . . the one remaining mouse has a brilliant idea. He must learn to fly!

Debut illustrator Torben Kuhlmann’s inventive tale and stunning illustrations will capture the imagination of readers—young and old—with the death-defying feats of this courageous young mouse.

Lindbergh: The Tale of a Flying Mouse by Torben Kuhlman is about a mouse who wants to go to America to get to his mouse friends and to escape the cats and mouse traps. The problem is that the mouse can’t get on a ship to get to New York, so he has to make something. I enjoyed this book because Lindbergh, the mouse, continuously tries new things out to solve his problem. I also liked the story because the mouse actually makes a cool plan. Lindbergh even knew what to use to make the plane. For example, he knew that it could not be too heavy and that the plane had to be powerful enough to lift off the ground. If you like airplanes, you will like this book.

Lindbergh: The Tale of a Flying Mouse by Torben Kuhlman is a book about a mouse who makes a plane to get to his mouse friends in America. The problem is Linbergh can’t get to the ship because cats are guarding the ship. My three favorite things about the book are: the plot, the humour and the details. The plot was interesting and the story is funny at some points. The pictures gave a lot of detail about what was happening. I recommend this book to kids who like history and animals.

The story Lindbergh: The Tale of a Flying Mouse by Torben Kuhlman is about a mouse who invents an airplane to get to his mouse friends in America. The problem in the story is Lindbergh, the mouse, can’t get to America because cats are guarding the ship to America. He wants to go to America because he wants to escape mouse traps, cats, and owls. My favorite part of the book is when the mouse tries to escape the owls, but is almost caught by them. I also liked the illustrations, suspense and that a mouse was smart enough to invent a plane. I recommend this book to people who like airplanes or science. If you like history like me, you will also like this book.
