After the exciting, rather exhausting adventures of "Finding Serendipity", Tuesday McGillycuddy is more than happy to lead a "normal" life - that is, until her slightly overprotective father, Dennis, rushes in with shocking headlines: "SEVEN WRITERS GONE MISSING." A frantic Dennis warns his wife and daughter to stop doing the thing they love most: writing, as to avoid being the next victim - but he is not able to stop the imaginative Tuesday and her loyal Winged Dog, Baxterr, from getting whisked away by her friend, Vivienne Small, who desperately needs Tuesday's help. After a Winged Dog's death, Vivienne's world has been turned topsy-turvy - and she blames the mysterious "G", who writes in his note that, "I cannot keep the worlds apart much longer." Without his power, the two worlds of story and reality will collide - and only Tuesday can save both worlds.. But will Tuesday and Vivienne be able to solve a mystifying mystery and save the world (again) at the same time? Poor Tuesday.. First of all, I would like to say that this book was oh-so-terribly cheesy at times, but I suppose I warmed up to it after a while - in fact, I would say that this book's "cheesiness" is what made it really pop out for me. Most books in the fantasy genre have plenty of angst and gruesome battles, but never really focus on more subtle themes like friendship and family - and they should. When I finished "A Week Without Tuesday", the ending was bittersweet - it left me yearning for more adventures with curious Tuesday and spunky Vivienne, who I had grown rather fond of. This book was written in a "childish" manner, with parts that made me smile cheekily, but was also overly descriptive, fitting as much detail into a page as possible - it was wonderful. When I finished "A Week Without Tuesday," I sighed with contentment, flopped over in my bed, and immediately went to make some blueberry pancakes and started working on my abandoned stories again. My hat is off to authors Heather Rose and Danielle Wood (Angelica Banks...) for a lovely sequel :)

Meet Tuesday Macgillycuddy, a brave young soul, who has the smile that can bright up a whole room and someone who loves to write A LOT. Now before I start with the summary, I would want to give my insight on this book. So I honestly believe that writing is a very special, useful tool. With writing you can have your own voice and express what YOU want to say. I thought that the way the author wrote it was very easy to understand, although on some parts I was a bit confused because I didn't read the first book... but the author made it a goal to make the readers understand what is going on. So I just want to take a minute and like just applaud her for the whole story plot. This tale was gripping and very imaginative. I also liked how the author made it seem that we were the one watching what Tuesday and Serendipity. By the way... Serendipity is Tuesday's mother and a famous writer in disguise. The way the author described it seemed so realistic and normal... even though that we know it will never happen... well maybe until our technology improves more... What Tuesday can do... well she can A LOT of things... but one cool super power she has is that she can go into a different realm... a new place.... and it's not earth... but it's one of Serendipity's books... You see that's what I love about books... I can transport somewhere I never been like in Hogwarts or meet some of my favorite characters in one sitting... just laying down in a comfy recliner... No fancy airplanes with all that hassle... See with reading and imagination... you get to be in a new world and meet new friends.. .and Ms. Banks took that concept and made a spin with this book. I am disappointed that I didn't read the first book.. but I'm glad to find out about this book... So onto the summary! So when the real and imaginary world starts merging as one... so what do you do??? Well if I was in Tuesday's shoes I would probably hide inside the attic, bring everything I love with me, and lock the attic door... I know, totally mature XD... Anyways because these two worlds are colliding, many famous authors disappear and come back in a mysterious location with no memory... So Tuesday's dad wants to play it safe and confiscate everything that has to do with writing so that was Serendipity and Tuesday won't go missing... But the problem is the world revolves around writing... I mean one must write in order to make a book. Anyways Tuesday becomes determined in order to make things write and fight for justice towards writers. So now Tuesday is stuck in the imaginary -writing world trying to get things back to original... With many obstacles... Can Tuesday do it? Is she capable of doing this? Well first of all don't underestimate young children... especially females... Because WE CAN DO IT... Just some of the parts were a bit cheesy and kind of easy to predict will happen to next... however... any young and aspiring readers and writers will love this book, with a dash of fantasy and realism rally brings this book to life...

This was a really creative book that thought of new ideas no author has ever thought of before- what if authors don't make up their characters? What if... All their thoughts and ideas were really just observations made in some other world? In this thrilling sequel to Finding Serendipity, the land of story is in chaos. It all started with several authors disappearing without a word, then appearing somewhere else in the world without a clue. Tuesday's father banns both her and Serendipity from using their typewriters to protect them, but that's like asking them not to breathe. But what they don't know is that both stories and reality are colliding... And the fate of the world is in Tuesday's hands.

The premise of this book really interested me, even before I read the book. Various writers are mysteriously disappearing, and then later reappearing a few days later, unharmed, but having no memory of what happened to them. The main character, Tuesday, and her mother, Serendipity, are at a large risk, as they both love writing, and so, Tuesday's father takes away what the love, in a desperate attempt to protect them: writing. Tuesday, unsure of what her life will be like without writing, meets Vivienne, unveiling a dark fear that could permanently alter writers forever.

Hi pipermc11! I didn't get to read your reviews in forever since Blood of Olympus. Nice

This book was really interesting to read. Tuesday, daughter of a famous author, travels back to a world where the events of books happen. When different stories collide and a dead dog with a note are discovered, Tuesday, her friend Vivienne and her dog must save the worlds.

The book "A Week Without Tuesday" is a sequel to Finding Serendipity. In A Week Without Tuesday writers are disappearing and then reappearing in our world in random places. In the other world things are going wrong as well. Creatures are appearing and disappearing. Tuesday and and her mother Serendipity are banned from going to the other world where they get their ideas. But when Tuesday is summoned by Vivienne she can't resist. She goes and finds that she is the only one who can fix it. So she must find the Gardener. Will Tuesday find the person she is looking for? Will she be able to fix the problem? I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars,

Cool

I loved this book so much!!! This book is about how Tuesday Mcgillycuddy goes on a quest to save writer's worlds from colliding. You see, all writers get transferred to a different world when they begin a new book, and their book becomes a world with the characters, and scenes and everything. So when the worlds start colliding with each other, and the person who keeps them apart becomes unable to keep them apart any longer, Tuesday and a character Vivivene, have to go on a adventure to make things right once and for all. This is an amazing fantasy story that all kids will LOVE! My favorite character is tuesday because of her kindness, honesty, and her love for an adventure. I think that the message in this story is, ''Love is everything''. I hope you like this amazing book as much as I do!!!!!!!!!!!!
