Do you remember when you were a child swinging on that new swing set that dad had such a hard time putting together? I do, and I had so much fun on this swing set. The children in the neighborhood would come over and play with me on that swing set. We would always try to see how high we could swing. We would pump the chains on the swing, go as high as we could, and jump out and see how far we could fly. We marked our spots and sometimes made a competition out of it. Our swing set had 3 swings, a glider swing (with two seats facing each other) and a slide to the far right. It was so much fun.
But, what if your swing set was magic? What if it could take you to different places or become anything you wanted to be? Wouldn’t that be great? Or would it have a price tag? Would there be a catch? How long would it last? My name is Chris and this is my story. I am telling you the story as a grown up now, looking back on the entire incident. We kept the secret of the Magic Swing Set among just a few of us whom we truly trusted: Tony, Mel, Emelie, Vincent, Paula, Debbie, my Aunt Donelda, my mother, Estelle, and of course, dad, Nolan, who built it.
