Stink and the Freaky Frog Freakout

Stink and the Freaky Frog Freakout

By Megan McDonald

Stink is really embarrassed. Even though he is really good at most things he tries, he is still in the Polliwog swimming class for little kids because he can't put his face underwater. All of the sudden, Stink starts seeing frogs everywhere. After a BLUE frog licks his arm he starts acting like a frog himself. He starts jumping around the house like a frog and sticking his tongue out to eat things. He starts to memorize frog calls and goes to a frog festival to learn more about them. The one good thing about thinking he is a frog is that he is finally able to put his head under water and gets to move on to the big kid swim class. I liked this book because it was fun learning facts about frogs and how they act. I just don't want to turn into a frog!!!

The One Thing You'd Save

The One Thing You'd Save

By Park, Linda Sue

This book is told by so many peoples perspective, one who has lived though a fire and saved nothing just tried to get out as quick as she could. Most of the people had something really important to them, maybe some wanted to save their xbox or something like that. This book shows everyone's perspective to what THEY would save, not their friend or their mom what THEY would save. This book was good for the most part, but some times it's sorta hard to tell whos perspective it is. But I do recommend The One Thing You'd Save.

Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot Vs. The Uranium Unicorns From Uranus (Ricky Ricotta #7)

Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot Vs. The Uranium Unicorns From Uranus (Ricky Ricotta #7)

By Dav Pilkey

In my opinion, I really liked this book. One reason why is it is about a robot and the people are animals . Another reason why is its a action storie about a robot fighting bad guys. The last reason why is it has a lot of books in the series . My favorite part is when the bad guys get in trouble. You might like this book if you like sci-fi books with robots. You should read this book because it has a big series and its about robots .

The Complete Moon Base Alpha: Space Case; Spaced Out; Waste of Space

The Complete Moon Base Alpha: Space Case; Spaced Out; Waste of Space

By Stuart Gibbs

I wasn't sure whether or not I should post individual reviews on each book in the trilogy.... I ultimately decided to kill three birds with one stone- er, book review. (They DO say the pen is mightier than the sword.) As someone who's read all the FunJungle novels and is currently in the middle of the Spy School series, I'd have to say the Moon Base Alpha books were by far the best. I wish Stuart Gibbs made more, but alas! He didn't. Anyway, it's the future, and Dashiell (Dash) Gibson (fun fact! he's named after Stuart's son) lives on a space station. On the MOON. Sounds like a dream experience, right? Wrong. The food is horrible, and there's only so much you can do with your virtual reality systems. So, Dash resorts to what any 12 year-old kid would do to pass the time- solving mysteries! Each book is chock-full of twists, turns, action, and laughter. Even if you're not into space, (I'm not! I thought I'd like FunJungle better, because I'm an animal lover, but I didn't!) you should still give this book a try. With its quirky characters, astounding world-building, and sensational suspense, Moon Base Alpha is one of the best series I've ever read!

Slob

Slob

By Ellen Potter

I read the book Slob by Ellen Potter. The book is about an overweight boy who is having a hard time at school. People keep bullying him, and someone keeps taking his Oreos. On top of this, Owen's parents had just died recently. So tries to build a machine that can replay the video tape of his parents death. I really liked this book. It was really funny, but also very emotional. Also, it wasn't a sob story. Throughout the book you don't feel super bad for him, to where the point you are about to cry. It was just the perfect amount of emotion, which was lightened up by humor. This book is realistic fiction because these things can all happen. He's not fighting dragons, or saving the world from robots. These events could actually happen. I think anyone 11 or older would be able to read this book. Anyone younger wouldn't feel the same emotions as Owen, and there is some profanity. A external conflict in this book is Man vs. Society. Throughout the whole book it's Owen fighting against the bullies and the school. He isn't fighting himself, nature, or one particular person. He is fighting school.

I Love You, Michael Collins

I Love You, Michael Collins

By Lauren Baratz-Logsted

This book is so good! It's 1969, and Mamie and her classmates are all given assignments to write letters to astronauts. Only Mamie writes to Michael Collins, the astronaut who will never walk on the moon, because he must stay with the ship, and after this trip NASA will never use him again, because there are so many other astronauts who want to go to space. She tells him about her family--her mom, her dad, her older sister Eleanor, her other sister Bess, her best friend Buster, and her cat. One night, her mom and dad have a fight, and her mom leaves, and soon after her dad tries to go after her. Eleanor, who moved out some years ago, doesn't stay long, and Bess leaves to stay with her boyfriend, and even Campbell the cat runs away. She had tried to throw a "Moonwalk Party", something her mom had wanted to do but her dad had objected, and then Mom left. But with no one there except Buster, is her party a lost cause? Will her parents get a divorce? And will the astronauts get to and from the moon safely?

Flood (Capstone Young Readers)

Flood (Capstone Young Readers)

By Alvaro F. Villa

This is a wordless picture book. It's about when a big storm comes and makes a flood and destroyed some of the house. They rode to a hotel, and in the morning they rode back they were sad because their house was destroyed. Then they fixed it. I like how the author makes the pictures. I liked learning about what to do when there's a storm.
