It's a really good book, and it takes blace in 1939, with all the war and what-not. It ends with him and Beth at Goldman's, listening to the news about Pearl Harbor.

Because I enjoyed reading Klein's novel "Ophelia" (another version of Shakespeare's Hamlet), I decided to read her other novels. Historical fiction fascinates me and I was glad to have read this novel as well. "Cate of the Lost Colony" tells the tale of a woman named Catherine (Cate) during the time when women were usually excluded from decision-making. Despite this, throughout the story, Cate is a heroine who is defiant, strong-willed, and outspoken. By entwining history and fiction, Klein created a story that will not be easily forgotten and also reintroduces the mystery of the “Lost Colony of Roanoke."

AWSOME BOOK.Has quite a bit of suspense

I think Harriet is a good woman . SHE SAVED MORE THAN 300 SLAVES ! No wonder people called hes mosses of her people. WOW ! I wish i could meet her.

I read this book because I didn't have anything else to read. I thought it would be boring, but that was far from the truth. it was a really good book told from a 12 or 13 year old girl's point of view. It is a very good, unpredictable book.

to me this book is speaking about something that i have been related to. im mostly magdela in this because of my parents.
