Spy Runner

Spy Runner

By Eugene Yelchin

So. This entire review will be about the momentum of this story because its pace is just really scary. No, not scary. Exhilarating. From the very beginning, everthing is peaceful and all... until Jake's house's room is rented out to a "communist" WEll, that's what Jake thinks, but there's actually a really surprising twist in the end. Starting from the place where his father's room is rented out, a bunch of events happen that is so heart thumping and exciting. But as exciting as it is, it's just too much. THere's no leeway in between, so it's hard for me to think through about the events, and what they mean. It's good for entertainment but if you are a deep reader like I am, you probably won't like this book that much.

The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (The Oxford Sherlock Holmes)

The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (The Oxford Sherlock Holmes)

By Arthur Conan Doyle, Christopher Roden

This is a very classical novel, it contains many short adventures about Sherlock Holmes. All of them are full of mystery and very interesting. The plots are compact that let people cannot realise what happened yet, then the criminals are arrested. I love the way which Conan Doyle used to describe characters. Although there are many characters in this novel. but I can clearly remember each of them. Because the author used many adjective to describe each of them. "The Final Problem" is my favourite stories of this book. Although Sherlock died in this story, the plots are still very interesting. Sherlock and professor Moriarty are both died. The process of the conflict between them is very thrilling.

Just Being Audrey

Just Being Audrey

By Margaret Cardillo

This book is a great introduction to the world of Audrey Hepburn. I love and adore Audrey and am a fan through and through. This is also a great book because it isn’t very long so you could also read it to a younger sibling but it still covers her whole life which is good. I recommend this book for any age as it is simple but great. Oh and one of the best parts about it Is the illustrations because they are gorgeous just like she was!

Common Sense

Common Sense

By Thomas Paine

I enjoyed learning about the American Revolution in school, but actually learning it from the perspective of a colonist. If you read my review of War and Peace, this might be a bit like that. This was like War and Peace, but shorter and they used words like "thereof" more often (Not like that's a problem, obviously). It was only 58 pages long, but it still took me like an hour to read (which is really saying something). Thomas Paine's pamphlet sold over 100,000 copies in the first three months, which is pretty amazing! I mean, he might not have thought his publication would have such a huge impact on the Patriots (and now the Loyalists probably hated him. I'm not sure about the neutrals. Neutral, maybe? Whatever)!! This was AMAZING to read. If you want to read it, be warned, it's slightly dry, but if you really want to learn about the American Revolution, then you'll probably love it. My class just finished learning about the American Revolution and I really wanted to read Common Sense. So I did! It's not a novel, or a biography, or an atlas, or a fact book, but a PAMPHLET (Look it up. It's probably in the dictionary. The word pamphlet, I mean. P-A-M-P-H-L-E-T. Easy). Read it! It's good (and thin)!
