The BFG

The BFG

By NA

Ho Hum.... What do we have here? The BFG by Roald Dahl is a classic for a reason. So, let's start shall we? I really loved this book. The characters are full of love and are just AMAZING. But.... there is still something going on here. Even though the story was amazing and such, I felt a tad-bit of randomness. Because of that it knocked off one star. Still four stars, nothing to worry about. Now, now , now.... let's talk about the main characters- The BFG and Sophie. Their friendship is adorable. I felt that this was a message to love someone in the inside not the outside. I know what you're thinking, just spill it out...... awwwwww❤️ Anyway, to wrap this whole thing up, The BFG by Roald Dahl is just plain AWESOME! And hey, 4 stars is not that bad.

QB 1

QB 1

By Mike Lupica

Have you ever wanted to read a good book about sports. In particularly football. The name of this book is QB 1 and the authors name is Mike Lupica. This book takes place in Granger, Texas where high school football is the only thing. The main character comes from a family of quarterbacks who are famous. His dad was a football legend who got injured and his older brother just went to college to be a starter as a quarterback. Jake the main character comes to high school for his first year and has to prove himself to the whole town. And in Granger Texas high school football is every bodies main focus. The antagonist of the book is Casey another quarterback who is competing to be starter. The protagonist is a jakes mom who always supports him no matter the circumstances. The turning point of the book is where jake starts to be confident of him self and gives Casey a run for his money. I really like and recommend this book because it's about football and was written very well.

My Side of the Mountain

My Side of the Mountain

By Jean George

This book is about a boy named Sam Gribley he ran away from his parents to a forest where his great grandfather had a farm. Sam thought that his great grandfather was still alive and that is part of the reason why he ran away. The other reason is that he did not like it in the city because it was too noisy. He hollowed out a tree and and started to live there, he got a little lonely so he stole a hawk from it's mother and started to live with it. I recommend this book for ages 9-15 because it is a little too violent for people who are younger.

Football Champ: A Football Genius Novel

Football Champ: A Football Genius Novel

By Tim Green

kingdumpster

Football Champ is a book about Troy White and his football genius gift. He is an offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons, and a ball boy. Troy has never met his father but has a talent for football. With the help of his mom and Seth Hawlloway an Atlanta Falcon, he is able to become an offensive coordinator and quarterback for his football team. My favorite part of the book is how Troy overcome obstacles with the help of Seth, his mom, and the Atlanta Falcon's owner. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the Tim Green series, and adventure and football books, and lots of expression. I hope you like this book.

Roller Girl

Roller Girl

By Victoria Jamieson

If you are looking for I slightly funny graphic novel dealing with the troubles of a middle school this is the book for you. Astrid is a 12 year old girl who has always done everything with her best friend Nicole. But one day her mom takes her along with Nicole to a Roller Derby meet. Astrid absolutly loves it while on the other hand Nicole just thinks it's a game where people just push each other around on skates. Astrid decides later she would like to be apart of the Roller Derby camp taking place this summer and would like Nicole to join as well but Nicloe had all ready had plans to be taking part in dance camp and wants nothing to do with Roller Derby. This puts a rift in their friendship as does Nicoles new friend Rachel who also is taking part in dance camp. Astrid accepts Nicole will not be joining her but is still hurt and sad especially when she arrives at camp not even able to keep herself up on skates and all the other girls seem to be older and pros at the subject. As the summer goes on Astrid learns the importance of friendship, family, and never giving up no matter what gets in your why. I higly suggest this book to anyone who loves graphic novels and is looking for a book about friendsip, Roller Derby, and the struggles of middle school.

Maniac Magee

Maniac Magee

By Jerry Spinelli

Jeffrey Lionel Magee. At least that was his name before he was known to be maniac. Jeffrey is a lonely, uncared for child whose parents died in the P&W trolley accident. After that, his auntie and uncle, Uncle Dan and Auntie Dot, took care of him. But unfortunately, they weren't talking to each other at the time when Maniac came into their lives. They were strict about catholicism and wouldn't get a divorce. Soon they started having two of everything, two TV's, two toasters, two bathtubs, two tables, Jeffrey ate with Uncle Dan on monday, Auntie dot ate with him on the tuesday, if they could they would even have two Jeffrey's. Then one night at the spring concert, after his class was finished singing, he was yelling at his aunt and uncle to talk, and that's what made him run away. Then he came into Two Mills, a few people say he saw him. People who actually saw him say they saw a kid with flapped sole sneakers running around. He then met a nice girl who's name was Amanda Beale. He begged and begged for her to give him a book but when she gave it to him, she was late to school. Now, he was doing a lot of stuff to get a lot of fame, he blocked a pass from Hand's down, he saved a kid from Finsterwalds backyard and sat on Finsterwalds front steps, he hit McNab's fastballs faster than he could pitch it, and also hit a frog ball, and lastly, he walked into the East End where he met Mars Bar. I highly recommend this book. It is very funny and entertaining.
