Henry and Mudge is a story about a lonely boy who gets a new friend. I think Henry's parents were very nice to let him get a puppy, but I bet they were surprised by how fast and how big Mudge grew! Henry and Mudge have many adventures together, but they do things differently because Henry is a boy and Mudge is a dog. I can't wait to read more stories about Henry and Mudge.

The perspective of this fascinating book alternates between Lauren, an upper-class kid going to a private Quaker school, and Sierra, a new foster kid who's foster parents are in Lauren's neighborhood. They're each missing something, though. Lauren has an autistic brother named Ryan who in preparation for college, has gone a boarding school, and Lauren feels like a piece of her heart is missing, and nothing can make it come back. Sierra has an addict dad in jail and an alcoholic mom, who's recently been sent to jail. She's now with loving foster parents in Lauren's neighborhood, and she goes to Lauren's school. They become great friends, sitting together at lunch, on the bus, and at school at Worship and Ministry Club. Their mission for the year is to get kids to focus on simplicity, which is where the trouble start. Lauren starts to see how her neighborhood is not simple, and decides to change that by selling things online and giving the money to Occupational Therapists, people who helped Ryan. However, she starts stealing stuff from stores and other people. Soon, she can't pass a single shiny thing without thinking about stealing it. Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith-Kennigton-Jones enrolls at the Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale Academy for Proper Young Ladies and is in for a world of trouble. Alethea has it out for everyone at the school but espically Alice-Miranda and for whatever her evil reasons are she and Ms.Grimm will do anything to get Alice-Miranda out of the school.

I grabbed this book from the shelf at my library because the title was captivating and it was a Junior Library Guild Selection. It had to good, right? Wrong. This book turned out to be a sore disappointment. It follows the stories of three "littlepoors", who are tiny, about the size of a rat, and poor, named Warner, Prayer, and Usher. Warner and Prayer are siblings whose dad has recently died from being stepped on by a cat, and whose Mom is severely injured. They end up leaving their littlepoor neighborhood, attempting to "scale up" (get bigger by getting more munmun). They go on many adventures and change sizes several times. I stopped about halfway through because I got really bored, and I didn't want to know what other trash was in the middle. I skipped to the end, and the end was not very well written either. Overall, the book may be "a powerful look at wealth and class", but it's also boring, badly written, and not worth your time.

Huh, sounds cool, i might read it. The cotton candy part sonds appealying.I wonder how good an aother Debbie Viguie is too. I might just read it!
