That book was very very very funny it was the best book i ever read in my friends life sike.

Almost ten-year-old Katy Gordon is the best pitcher in her neighborhood. Every day, at recess, Katy plays baseball with the boys at school. At first, Katy had to put up with the snide comments that the boys kept saying to her (“What? She’s playing? I bet she won’t even be able to throw a ball, or run to first base! I mean, she’s a girl!”). But now, all the boys in the neighborhood know that Katy Gordon is the best pitcher they’ve got. But, when Katy tries out for Little League, things can’t be more different. Katy isn’t excepted to join the team, and the main problem is that she’s a girl. ‘Girls can’t play baseball, and it’s a boys’ sport’ Katy gets told every time. Katy Gordon is going to fight back, no matter what! She’s going to prove that she isn’t the only female baseball player! Through this exhilarating tale, Katy has to use her wits and bravery. Katy is going to prove that females can play ball, and do it well!

At firs this book was boring until the middle.n Just like always at that point the story picks up and gets good. The story was good since I feel the author truly expressed the sadness they felt and how outrageous the segregation was. It made me better understand the concept of the struggle between the whites and the blacks at that time. The story builds up to a fiery climax that was just astonishing. A lot of people complain about the use of a bad word but with out it you wouldn't truly feel the horror they felt long ago

"'It's not about getting knocked down, it's how you get back up.'" I usually don't read books about football, but this one was great! 8th grader Teddy's whole life is football. He lives, eats, breathes football. But his world is turned upside down when his father, who hasn't been part of Teddy's life for years, suddenly shows up on his doorstep and seems to think (and act like) he's the new coach of Teddy's football team. He expects Teddy to be the perfect player, which Teddy can't be all the time, and makes him try positions he's not accustomed to. On top of all that, Teddy and his friends Jack, Cassie, and Gus are organizing a fundraiser to support their school's music program, which was a big project to take on. Teddy is taking life one step, or tackle, at a time, and he needs to put on his A-game to work through his problems on and off the field. This book was an easy, fun read, and I recommend it to all sports lovers, especially those who love football! I liked this book a lot, and learned more about football then I've ever known! Another great novel by Mike Lupica! For ages 8+

The Humphrey series is really good. I have read a lot of them including: Mysteries according to Humphrey, Winter according to Humphrey and a couple more.

This book is about a little boy named Andrew and his dad who have to live at the airport because they are homeless. They try not to get caught, so they move around every day and try to fit in with other people. They do their laundry in the sink. Andrew’s dad works as a custodian. They discover more homeless people and families in the airport, and a bird that keeps trying to leave. This book describes a lot about what homeless people have to go through. This is a really good book with great life lessons, like being thankful for what you have. People who have been homeless or know people who are might be very affected by this book.

This was a great book! So Hayley is now hanging out with Meghan all the time because Artie has permanently ditched her for her new drama friends. And Devon; her crush is currently dating Artie, but flirts with Hayley. One day after school when Hayley is walking home with Meghan...because of Halloween coming up, Meghan decides to steal a pumpkin which gets them ending up in a police car. Her dad's girlfriend: Annie has also invited Chloe and Hayley to eat with Annie's parents at an elegant country club for Thanksgiving, which Hayley is ultimately dreading. And in the midst of all of this, Hayley is "helping" Marco with Math, which lands her in trouble again...
