Trash Can Days: A Middle School Saga (A Trash Can Days)
By Teddy Steinkellner
Okay, so first and foremost, this is one of the most truest books that I have ever read on Earth. This book is so honest and thoughtful and it's just so unforgettable. I think this is one of the best books that I have ever read, like seriously and I don't say that often. And anyway, I need to start with a somewhat short summary; let's see how it turns out. Oh, and thank you so much to Dogo Books who provided me with this book when I won a giveaway on the site. I am eternally indebted to Dogo for this book, this book is just soooo good. So Jake is now entering middle school. He's kind of nervous, but at least he has his best friend, Danny by his side right? Not really. Jake is noticing that Danny has become more distant, and they haven't been hanging out anymore. Hannah, Jake's sister, has known Danny since he was 8 and she thinks he's okay. Hannah starts developing feelings for Danny, but I won't give a way too much so I'll stop there. In their middle school, it is socially unacceptable to be dating a "sevvy" (seventh grader) if you are in eight grade. So, that's definitely a problem. And Dorothy Wu, a social outcast loves writing and all she wants is a friend. How are these distinctly different middle-schoolers connected? Find out in Trash Can Days (which is such a good book, if I haven't already said that lol). Anyway, on to the review. First off, I really really appreciated how middle school was SO SO accurately portrayed in the book. Like, everything in the book has happened in my middle school. And yes, some people (okay, a lot) of people at my school say curse words so you should definitely ask your parents if you can read this book because there is a lot or cursing, drama, dating, and like some not-so-appropriate scenes. I loved how the Hannah and Jake had a sibling rivalry, like my siblings. It made it seem realistic, like everyone and everything in the book. There were definitely lots of funny parts, and some really serious parts because Danny was in a gang that was very violent. The story switches between the four character's point-of-views, which was kind of hard to read at first but you'll get used to it. I feel like I didn't enjoy Dorothy's chapters that much and I think it was because I didn't really relate to her (besides our adoration for writing and books), I would recommend this to the 12-14 age group (again, ask a parent before reading this because this IS a YA or a Young Adult novel). I really liked how everyone in the book was so realistic; they developed really strong relationships. I seriously CANNOT wait for the second book, Trash Can Nights which is coming out very soon. See you later, -ifeelbookish P.S. I'm currently reading Girl Parts by John M. Cusick and I'm almost finished with it. I'll be reviewing it soon.

The End of Olympus (Pegasus)
By Kate O'Hearn
PecabethMyOTP
I greatly enjoyed this series, although. . . I have to say, the last book gave me pause. I wasn't a fan of the Titans' redemption, but it was a good outlook on life - seeing as we don't always have to defeat the enemy. And except for that conflict between Joel and Emily (which I still don't totally understand) I thought it was an outstanding piece of literature.
Breaking Stalin's Nose
By Eugene Yelchin
I thought Eugene s Breaking Stalin's nose was really well written. I only gave it 4 stars because the ending leaves you hanging. Warning watch out for Stukachov. Hes bad news. This historical fiction book is good enough to read again and again but I would skip the ending. Also there are lots of surprises. And there's some for shadowing to look for. Also Sasha has some trouble unavailing really serious stuff. Thats all im going to say.I highly recommend this book. Its really interesting and it teaches you about the Soviet Union. I just wanna say one more thing. Eugene is a genius! And you should try this book.It is so good it deserves the William Allen White award. I would read it instead of eating vegetables And not just because I hate vegetables. Its a really good book. I really really liked it. Im pretty sure you will to...
Rebellion of Thieves (A Robyn Hoodlum Adventure)
By Kekla Magoon
flowerfox
I loved this book and all the other books in this series. I think everyone ages 10 to adult would love this book. I wish Kekla Magoon would write another sequel to this book and write more books of this type. Go! Hurry up and check this book, and all the other ones in this series, out from the library!
My Life with the Liars
By Caela Carter
Jaydah
In my life with Liars, the compound manipulates her mind so she thinks everything outside of the compound is evil or “darkness”.This story leaves you in wonder and is very emotional. And all I want to know is, what will happen next? Some things I really enjoyed was how they kept the book interesting and how they made it have many different emotions.I wonder why they make the beginning so boring. And, that’s my opinion.
Geek Girl
By Holly Smale
Geek Girl is the perfect book if you want drama! This book is a realistic fiction book narrated by a girl named Harriet Manners. It's perfect for drama because i mean a geek to an international super model? That's just way out of the league! If you love geek to super model, you're gonna love this book.
Emily of New Moon
By L. M. (Lucy Maud) Montgomery
I am in the process of reading L. M. Montgomery's Emily of New Moon. Emily's sweet father just died, leaving her to the mercy of her mother's family, the Murrays. Emily, shocked and heartbroken, wants nothing but to be with her father again. But instead she is taken into Aunt Laura (the sweet one) and Aunt Elizabeth's (The stern, no-nonsense, plain, sensible one) home on New Moon. Emily slowly warms up to her new environment, and discovers the pain and joy in having friends. I love this book because Montgomery is such a beautiful writer, the very one who wrote Anne of Green Gables. Her writing flows like a river! I hope you liked this book as much as I do.
Moon Over Manifest
By Clare Vanderpool
Moon Over Manifest is a tale of community, understanding, and family, with a little bit of mystery mixed in. Strange people and events become less strange as this well-crafted puzzle comes together by the end of the novel. At the beginning of the book, Abilene's dad sends her away for the summer to live with an old friend in Manifest, a town he lived in for some of his childhood. Abilene does not have high hopes for the summer. She is unsure of why her father sent her and feels all alone. When Abilene discovers a hidden box of old letters and mementos, Abilene finds new purpose. She attempts to solve a small town mystery with a couple of new friends. As she begins to uncover pieces of the puzzle, she finds herself digging deeper and deeper into the history of the town of Manifest. Questions arise about about her own family history, and curiosity about her father leads Abilene to continue her search for truth and understanding. This is a great book for middle-grade readers. I enjoyed the complex characters and the idea that people, places, and stories are not always as they seem.
