If you like reading about the time period about where people were charged of witchcraft, then this book is for you! The girl in this book's dad has tempers and he will run out of the house, acting crazy. The serving girl quits because of that, and then claims that she is like the girls that are 'controlled by the devil,' and she accuses the two girls, the main character in the book and her sister, of being witches. They go to the dungeon where the witches are kept, and join their aunt who was already there. Do the girls get hanged for saying the truth, Stay in the dungeon forever, and confess to being witches, or blame another? Read on to find out what happens!
The Tell-Tale Start (The Misadventures of Edgar & Allan Poe)
By Gordon McAlpine
Have you ever heard one of Edgar Allen Poe's poems or stories? Well, here's something that I like even better! This is a story about his great-great-great nephews who are twins who can read each other's minds. They have a huge adventure with some parts that might scare some kids. It was my favorite book of the summer. They should have a day dedicated to this book.
Always October
By Bruce Coville
Warning! This review contains spoilers! Jake's dad left one day, and never came back. Lily's parents abandon her, so she lives with her grandfather. Lily and Jake are best friends. One day Jake find's a baby on his door step, and his mother decides to keep it until they can find its parents. It turns out that the baby turns into a monster on the full moon. What I thought of it: Normally I hate books where kid's dads leave (it turns out his dad really didn't leave), but this one was surprisingly good. Jake and Lily were both great characters. The plot was good and interesting, and the end was unexpected. But I wish they hadn't kept the baby. Overall (despite the fact I normally don't read these kinds of books) it was really good.
Letters from Camp (Avon Camelot Books)
By Kate Klise
This is another great book by Kate Klise. Something mysterious is going on at camp and it is up to some campers to fix it. The whole book is told in letters (as you can see from the title), and some newspaper articles and pictures.
Our Only May Amelia (Newbery Honor Book, 2000)
By Jennifer L. Holm
I chose this book for the class because we have been learning about Washington State's history and the effects of change on people and cultures. May Amelia's family are immigrants from Finland and they have brought their cultural perspective to their new life in the Northwest. They must make adjustments to live successfully in this new territory among the indigenous Chinook and the immigrant Chinese to name a few. May Amelia, herself, wrestles with the traditions of her culture and her desire to take risks and live the adventurous life of her brothers. I loved the characters in this book and the unique writing writing style of Jennifer Holm.
Shooting the Moon
By Frances O'Roark Dowell
This book is the bomb! I think that everyone with a family member or wants to go into the military should read this book. Frances O'Roark Dowell is a great author. I want to read other books by him.

The Kiss (Witch & Wizard)
By James Patterson, Jill Dembowski
I loved this book! That is, after I found it. not shortly after finishing what I thought was a trilogy, I found James Patterson's "The Kiss". I was a little upset that I had never heard of it, and of course had to buy it immediately. I read the book and loved it, but I was still bummed to have found out late. I wasn't expecting a formal letter, but surely someone knew! I also couldn't help but notice that you also don;t have the (again surprising) fifth book to the series, "The Lost". DOGO might look into putting it on the site. (Also, I was severely disappointed by the comeback of a certain character, I found it unnecessary)
Liv and Maddie Double Trouble (Liv and Maddie Junior Novel)
