Me-Now: The Adventures of Mickey the Mushing Cat
By Leon S Mensch
Anne M.
This is a great book for children and adults. It is based on the real life of Mickey, a rescued kitty that had a rough start in life. The story draws you in early on and it's hard to put down. It's funny, sad, exciting and suspenseful. Can't wait for the next book to come out.
Cam Jansen: The Mystery of the Television Dog #4
By David A. Adler
Cam Jansen went to a book signing from a famous dog. The famous dog had white fur and black spots. Someone switched him out with a fake all white dog that had shoe polish rubbed on the exact same spots. Cam follows this strand looking man with a dog and he is cutting up words from a magazine and gluing them down on a sheet of paper. The guy is eventually caught and the real famous dog is back with its owner. I gave this book a four star rating because although it is a very good book and can get a little boring at times. I could relate to this book because once my dog went missing and we looked at dogs everywhere outside that looked like him.
Scout (Puppy Place)
By Ellen Miles
This book’s genre is realistic fiction and it was written by Eleen Miles. In the first part of the story they adopt a dog to foster. And they can’t find anyone who wants her so, they train her to be a search and rescue dog. Then they see a policewoman at school to sponsor in class. They become friends with her and she has a police dog too. At the end of the story the policewoman's dog has to retire so she needs a search and rescue dog. So, there may be someone for Scout. The main characters are Lizzie and scout. Lizzie is a girl who is very kind. She loves to foster puppies. Scout is a puppy who is going to be a search and rescue dog. Lizzie has to foster Scout for a long time and after she gets to know her better she really wants to keep her. But she doesn't end up keeping her anyway. Two key events that happened in the book that added to the plot are when they asked a lot of people to adopt her but nobody wanted to and at the end when they found someone who needed her rather than wanted her. These two things added to the plot because they changed how the story was told and made it more interesting and exciting to read. I think finding an owner who needed her rather than wanted her was the best thing to possibly do. I think the main characters changed from the beginning of the story to the end of the story because, in the beginning they were trying to get rid of Scout but at the end they gave her to someone who needed her. In chapter ten you see this happen on page 72 when Lizzie says, “ ...would be the perfect person to adopt Scout…”. One unanswered question that I’d like to ask the author is was scout a good search and rescue dog when he was done with training? What I enjoyed the most was when they found an owner for her then that someone would help with training for shour! And I know that she will be perfect for the job. Yes, I would recommend this book because it has lots of adventure and it is very exciting and mysterious to read. It also has some cute feachers. It interested me right when I saw it just sitting there on the bookshelf. The cover was the cutest part. I am very glad that I got this book!
Ivy & Bean: Bound to Be Bad (Ivy & Bean, Book 5)
By Annie Barrows
This book’s genre is folktale and it was written by Annie Barrows. This book is about two best friends that like to be bad. At first, Bean was always bad, she was the second meanest person on the Pancake Court ( their neighborhood). In the middle, Bean was bad and since Bean is bad now. Therefore, everyone is bad. In the end, Bean got a little bit nicer. The main characters are Ivy and Bean. Bean is always mean, naughty, and a show off. Ivy is kind, sweet and has a pure heart. Also, Ivy and Bean are best friends and they both are young. Two key events that happened in the book that can be “added” to the plot is “once you are bad it will turn everyone bad.” So, I think that you can try not to be bad, so nobody will copy you. This is added to the plot because Bean is always bad but Ivy is always kind so if that Bean learns from Ivy. Bean will not be bad and she will be kind and good. The main characters change from the beginning of the story to the end of the story by, when Bean became Ivy's best friend. Ivy was sometimes mean when she just became Bean's friend. Then, when Ivy was mean sometimes, Bean learned from Ivy and now Bean is mean. At, the begnning of the story Bean and Ivy were best friends. But, they were not that much mean. They had many friends on Pancake Court. At, the end of the story Bean’s friends got bad because Bean was bad.On page 7, it states, “ Bean picked her plate and licked the streaks of the leftover syrup.” On page 85, it also states, “ I think that I’ve got the bad,” said Bean and Ivy’s friend. One unanswered question I would like to ask the author is, “ Is Bean going to stay good?” I enjoyed this because Bean is weird and bad and Ivy is always, good, kind. I would recommend this book because when Ivy and Bean were bad that makes everyone bad and I learned that to not be bad or it will affect everyone. So, I think to try not to be bad and be good. Then, everyone will copy and they will turn out to be good, if you are good.

Surf's Up, Geronimo! (Geronimo Stilton)
By Geronimo Stilton
I read this book in a jiffy and it was actually pretty decent. I bonded with this book because bad things have happened to me multiple times. Like Geronimo was having all these bad things occur to him. First it was listening to his cousin about booking a vacation in a sketchy spot. Next it was Geronimo going to the hotel and it being awful (the worst room he had ever seen). Lastly it was Geronimo getting fooled by his cousin and worker that made all the money off of Geronimo. Anyway was a chaotic vacation when Geronimo should've been relaxing!

The Help
By Kathryn Stockett
The Help Help: to give aid; be of service or advantage. Help is always in the shape or form you think it would be. My book is named The Help the author is Kathryn Stockett. The setting is Jackson, Mississippi 1962. Aibleen is a maid who works for Miss Leefolt she is also the protagonist the other protagonists are Minny Miss Celia Foote, Mister Johnny, all of the other maids, and last but not least Miss Skeeter. The antagonist is Miss Hilly. She dislikes Aibleen and Minny. In this great realistic fiction book Miss Skeeter’s mom gets diagnosed with cancer. It gets harder for Miss Skeeter and her mom. During the story Aibleen, the maids, and Miss Skeeter make a book about how the maids are treated and their life. During a talk show (when the book is published) one man says it might be about Jackson, Mississippi and the maids get worried there bosses will find out because they made it very secretive and disingenuous. I liked this book because i thought that the storyline was very interesting and bold. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction books about history WARNING= SWEARS probably seventh graders and up!
