Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants: The Questioneers Book #2
By Andrea Beaty
This is a fun easy reader on my STEM list this summer. There are two additional books by this author, Andrea Beaty in the set I received. Iggy Peck, Architect and Rosie Revere, Engineer, I will read and review later. The young girl in this book has soooo many questions, just like me. I laughed because my parents always stopped what they were doing to answer my questions and that encouraged me to ask more, now I am a junior scientist with even more questions that I am answering on my own. Great book for young kids, but older kids can enjoy.

Anna has always longed for many things - the hidden truth of her unknown mother, the mystery of her master, and the secrets of the forest. The forest - the place her master forbids her to go...and scares her with stories of the ghouls and bad spirits that inhabit it. But, Anna wants to push away the scary tales and foreboding and explore the forest. And will she? Disobey her master so she can learn the secrets of the woods? Does the forest and her mother somehow have a connection? Tree girl is an excellent story full of magic, friendship and courage!

By Neal Shusterman, Eric Elfman
After a house fire killed his mother and destroyed all of their possessions, Nick, his younger brother Danny and their dad move from Tampa, Florida, to Colorado Springs, Colorado into their great aunt’s house. After choosing the attic as his bedroom and finding a bunch of odd gadgets and machines, Nick decides to hold a garage sale to help clear out the space. Although hit by a sudden rainstorm, his garage sale is strangely successful. People seem compelled to buy the objects and there is the strange arrival of four creepy men in a black SUV. It isn’t until later that Nick realizes that the gadgets he found might be more important and more interesting than he thought - and that a shady group of scientists called the Accelerati know something about them. Now it’s up to Nick to figure out who they are, what they want, and what power really lies in his, well, attic. This book is entertaining, suspenseful and a really fun read. I would recommend it to anybody who likes mystery/action/sci-fi novels.
Dirtmeister's Nitty Gritty Planet Earth: All About Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, & Even Dirt! (National Geographic Kids)
By Steve Tomecek
I borrowed this, and read it, but for those who are trying to win this at the Freebies section, please do not read, because I might spoil it for some. Anyways, this scientist is studying natural landscaped and the world around our feet. Some take Earth for granted, but once you read this, you will be able to look at things from a different and better perspective. Enjoy!
Flush
By Carl Hiaasen
The lesson to be learned is to except an offer that helps you and to offer help to someone who needs it. For example, in the book Flush the dad wouldn't except the help given from his son. By doing this the dad is still in prison. Someone can relate to this and not except food, water, and clothing when they need it. So except help when you need it and don't be selfish and refuse the offer if you're not okay where you are or how you feel. Additionally, if someone needs help from someone, help them and don't ignore it. For instance, if an old granny is slowly strolling across a street and a car was getting closer, and closer and someone doesn't help this old this can cause an urgent disaster. Finally, a lesson that should be learned is to offer help and except it or, disasters can struck someone's life. I'd rate this book an "8 out of 10". I would recommend this book because not many things happen at the beginning of the story . Then so many miraculous things happen. For example, the characters dad went to jail. Then he comes back a month later when he was supposed to be in jail for a couple of years. The family is now back together as a normal family. On the other hand so many things go wrong. Flush is full of excitement and sorrow. By the way and unanswered question I would ask the author is, "Did Dusty Muleman ever go to jail for dumping in the lake?"
