Pico the Gnome

Pico the Gnome

By Martina Müller

Happy

One day, Pico the gnome goes for an evening stroll to collect firewood and ingredients for a stew, and falls asleep in the forest. He dreams of a fairy who tells him he will soon have to be brave. Sure enough, as dawn breaks, a giant thunders through the land, frightening all the animals and birds -- but Pico uses quick thinking and kind words to bring about a happy ending. Generations of children have enjoyed Martina Müller's classic picture book, illustrated in a handcrafted artistic style full of life and color, and the tale -- which captures the value of bridging differences -- remains as relevant today. This beautiful gift edition is perfect for young hands.

Seraphina

Seraphina

A heroine I can cope with! She takes action into her own hands instead of whining about it to others. Puzzled with the ending, so looking forward to the next installment.

Erak's Ransom (Ranger's Apprentice, Book 7)

Erak's Ransom (Ranger's Apprentice, Book 7)

By John A. Flanagan

AMAZING! It's clever, genius, and just leaves you hanging!! Every chapter ends so that you just have to read another! I gobbled this book up!! - I'm halfway through Book 9 right now and I've gotten to really suspenseful part, so I've just had to keep reading, but recently I haven't been reading Rangers Apprentice as often and as quickly as I wanted to (it took me a little while to read Book 8) because it just wasn't as catching and hooking-you-in as the books have been before, but 7 did this almost more than any of the other books have! When you realize just how strong the relationship is between Will and his horse (and there is so much emotion there), you just have to keep reading until Will finds him! (If he ever does!) It's so sad and so intense and so emotional, and just SO everything! It's also clever and genius and all as Will battles the desert and the wild in search of his horse, but the real reason that he's in the desert is not forgotten with the ending suddenly dramatically turning the tables!! Will he save Erak? And will he find Tug before it's too late? READ THIS BOOK AND SERIES!! (my favorite series OF ALL TIME!)
