A Tale of Witchcraft... (A Tale of Magic... (2))
By Chris Colfer
Ok this one is so great! So many twists and turns and unexpected betrayal, and Brystal even is KILLED by her CRUSH, makes a deal with DEATH, AND IS FRAMED FOR MURDER, and COMES BACK TO LIFE, and fights an army of DEAD SOLDIERS, and it’s like the most eventful book ever. And Lucy goes to join a school of witchcraft with Pip, and she turns her hair into feathers! Tell me this doesn’t sound like the best book ever? I love how the story plays out! It’s so eventful, it’s like a rollercoaster of words! Love this book, don’t know what I’d do without it.
The Tombs of Atuan (Earthsea Cycle)
By Ursula K. Le Guin
For as long as she can remember, Arha has been the High Priestess of the Nameless Ones, the ancient and powerful beings who have existed since the beginning of time. She lives in the Place of the Tombs, a remote place with temples to the Nameless Ones, along with the Godking, the ruler of the Kargad Lands. Since she was picked as the Priestess, she is known only as Arha, the Eaten One in the Kargish language. Under the Place of Tombs is a massive maze of corridors, the Labyrinth, which protects the Tomb's most sacred treasures. One day, a stranger from the Inner Lands comes into the Labyrinth, seeking the Ring of Erreth Akbe, the Tomb's most valuable object. Arha's duty as the Priestess of the Nameless Ones is to sacrifice the man, who says his name is Sparrowhawk, but he is a mage and brings tales of life beyond the desert. Will Arha kill Sparrowhawk or risk her life escaping the Nameless Ones? I really liked the author's writing style, and I recommend The Tombs of Atuan to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy stories.
The Star Thief
By Lindsey Becker
I knew this book was going to be good, but I wasn't prepared for how long I was going to stay up to finish it. It was a very fun story, there were a few twists and turns. It was about a girl named Honorine who was a maid at the Vidalia mansion. Then she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a battle, with her life in danger.
Red: The (Fairly) True Tale of Red Riding Hood
By Liesl Shurtliff
Red. Is this the Red from Red Riding Hood? Yes. But this Red, is way more braver, and isn't afraid of anything. Except for magic... When Red finds out that her grandma starts feeling ill, she starts panicking and starts looking for ways to heal her. When Red's grandma finds out that Red is going out on adventures, she keeps telling Red to stop and that everyone dies. Red doesn't listen because Red's grandma has always been in her life. Red goes on an amazing adventure that all kids should experience on the sidelines. When I say experiencing it on the sidelines, I mean to that kids will enjoy this story as if they are in this story as spectators. I think that everyone should read this because it is truly a respectful and true book. 5 stars!

Persephone the Phony (Goddess Girls)
By Joan Holub, Suzanne Williams
Persephone is fed up with her mom. Sure, she knows that Demeter is just looking out for her best interests, but she can get so overprotective sometimes! Persephone still has to live with her mom on Mount Olympus, conform by her strict rules, and tell her exactly where she's going. Curfews, policies...Persephone's tired of it all. So when she ventures into a mortal graveyard, she knows she's breaking a ton of her mom's rules, but she's too weary to listen to her better judgment. And, even better, Persephone meets a nice godboy there - Hades! At first, Persephone is afraid of the gloomy-looking boy, but soon realizes the sunshine of his true personality. Yet, when Demeter realizes her goddess-of-spring daughter is hanging out with the Underworld king, she's furious and becomes more forebodingly strict than ever before. Desperate and confused, Persephone tries to break out of her rule-bidden walls, but it may cost her everything. Mischievous and enthralling, Persephone the Phony is the perfect novel for those who have felt caged in by rules.
