Zach's Lie

Zach's Lie

By Roland Smith

The book that I will be reviewing today is Zach’s Lie By: Roland Smith. This book is about a boy named Jack Osbourne, his life changes the night that masked robbers break into his house and threaten his family. After that Jack finds out that these men came because, Jach’s father had been arrested for drug trafficking. Jack, his mother, and his sister are then forced to enter Witness Security Program. Jack becomes "Zach" and moves to Elko, Nevada, a town in the middle of nowhere. There he meets Sam, the strangest school custodian he has ever encountered, and Catalin, a girl who might make Zach's uprooting worth the trouble. But just as Zach finally begins to piece together a new life, he finds himself in danger again-and this time his actions could determine the fates of everyone he cares about. I liked this book for many reasons such as, it constantly had action. Another reason I liked this book was that you can really see what people face when they go into witness protection. Zach’s Lie is definitely realistic fiction because, all of these events could happen in real life. Internal conflict happens in this book is that Zach is always worried that when he cares about someone they get hurt. An External Conflict that happened was Man vs Man this happened in the beginning of the book when the masked robbers intruded Zach’s home. To conclude, Zach’s Lie was a great book and I recommend it to both boys and girls but also, people who like action packed books.

Murder At Midnight

Murder At Midnight

By Avi

I think that this book focuses on some old-fashioned and unique topics. I would give it 2 or 3 stars out of 5. The reason for this lower score is that I think other kids won't be as interested in this storyline. It takes place in a time period that is well known. Personally, many parts were hard to follow and understand. I think it takes an older mind to read and decipher this story. I do think if it was rewritten that it could be easier to understand, just not in the current format.

Knightley and Son

Knightley and Son

By Rohan Gavin

The once highly in-demand detective Alan Knightley has just woken up after an unexplained incident kept him asleep for four years. While he was out cold, his son, Darkus, took it upon himself to read of all his dad's old cases, and he's learned a lot about the art of detection. It's a good thing too—because suddenly the duo find themselves caught up in a crazy conspiracy that involves a group of villainous masterminds (who keep appearing and then vanishing), some high-speed car chases (that will have everyone fastening their seat belts), and a national, bestselling book with the power to make people do terrible, terrible things. But because Alan is still suffering the effects of his coma, he tends to, well, fall asleep at the worst possible moments, Meaning that young Darkus might just have to solve this mystery . . . by himself.
