Fingerprints and Talking Bones

Fingerprints and Talking Bones

By Charlotte Jones

I read this book because it was about forensics and crime solving. This book was about how real crimes are solved and what scientist have to do to solve the crimes. This book tells the reader stories about crimes and what mistake the criminal made to get caught. In some cases the criminal didn't make any mistakes but they still got caught. Or in some cases the criminal didn't get aught at all. I liked this book because it tell me stories about crimes and how they are solved and what tools scientist use to help solve the crimes.

Naji and the mystery of the dig

Naji and the mystery of the dig

By Vahid Imani

Naji and the Mystery of the Dig was a very good book. I learned a lot about Persian culture, families and food which is really cool. At the end of the story, in the back of the book there are questions that I thought were interesting. My favorite was, would you go in the hole? The story is about a young eight year old girl Naji and her family. One morning she hears digging in her yard and later learns that they need a new septic well for their toilet. The mystery of the dig and her life unfolds throughout the story. There are many strange things that happen that Naji learns valuable lessons from. If you want to know how strange you should read the story. I would recommend Naji and The Mystery of the Dig to anyone who likes a good quick read, wants to learn about life for children in the middle east and enjoys a great ending.

The Great Train Mystery (47) (Real Kids Real Places)

The Great Train Mystery (47) (Real Kids Real Places)

By Carole Marsh

This is a kids book review of "The Great Train Mystery, by Carole Marsh": Pros: It teaches a lot about western expansion. It is a very fun mystery! Very suspenseful! Cons: A few facts are off (Technically the American Transcontinental Railroad was not the first Transcontinental railroad, it was the Panama Canal Railway that opened in 1855, but the American Transcontinental Railroad was the first to stretch such a long way over a continent.) Parts of it don't make sense (There was a book that came before this about the Oregon Trail yet Grant doesn't know what it is, etc.) Conclusion: It is very well written despite a few things and it is a must for kids who love trains!
