The Siren Song (Cronus Chronicles, Book Two)
By Anne Ursu
Some people say sequels aren't as good as the original, however the second book of the Cronus Chronicles is proof that this saying isn't always right. This book is insanely charming, starring a colorful and lovable cast of characters. Displaying interesting and hilarious takes on famous figures of Greek mythology. In this book, the role of antagonist is split between three different characters, yet all of them are still fabulously twisted. This is the only book that had me list Narrator as one of my favorite characters. The Narrator seems to morph his/her beliefs depending on which character he/she is narrating. This style definitely richens the story because the Narrator explains the antagonists or protagonists way of thinking, which can be hilariously mislead or cunning. The author has an amazing talent to write both comedy and action well, all while keeping it appropriate. If yo want to skip out a sequel, don't let it be this one!
Holly's Jolly Christmas (Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo)
By Nancy Krulik
Have you ever seen a person turn into a reindeer? In this book Katie, George (Katie’s good friend), and their teacher Mr. G, are all in the Christmas spirit. Katie especially wants it to be Christmastime. She was so happy when for lunch Katie got a Sandwich with lettuce, tomato and cheese that was shaped like a tree. She had a red and white candy cane for her desert. She is careful not to wish for anything because when she makes wishes, they actually come true!! Katie has a magic wind that can change her into anything including pets and other people. Hopefully Katie doesn’t mess up with Christmas with any switcheroos. Can she do it??? I love this book. One reason is because it is funny. In school Mr.G is the crazy teacher. He lets the kids have teams to fit as many balls into George’s pants. Another reason is that it is full of adventures. Katie got changed into a reindeer because in the nighttime there was a star on top of her head and the next day she turned into a reindeer. It was a great book you should read it.

Dragon Keeper
By Carole Wilkinson
This book is a great book. The book is based in Ancient China during the Han Dynasty period. Its based on a slave girl who believes that she doesn't belong to this world but she was wrong, she had a boss who owned a golden Dojo. But this story all begins when the slave girl saves a dragon from getting killed. The dragons name was Danzi. From there the girl who doesn't have a name leaves her master and goes on a journey with the Dragon Danzi across China. During the journey the dragon starts learning more about the life about the girl and gives her the name "Ping" while they are on their journey they bring with them a mysteries purple stone that had to be protected. This was a brief about the story and I recommend reader to read it. The book is funny and would high recommend it for ages 10-14 years.

School for Sidekicks: The Academy of Metahuman Operatives
By Kelly McCullough
This book, all in all, was a nice book. I didn't find it super unique, but it delivered. My main problems for this book was, firstly, a huge lack of descriptions on characters, both main and unimportant ones. There wasn't ANY description whatsoever for our big man of the hour, Evan Quick, THE MAIN CHARACTER. Nothing. So I just have to use my imagination as to what Evan really looks like. Next, the plot DRAGS. Some of the material could use some chopping. This is a superhero book, yes, but I didn't expect the plot to be THAT predictable and corny. Half the book I couldn't wrap my mind around and wasn't described well enough, so I had no clue what was happening. I did find some parts interesting, but honestly, I don't think Mr. McCullough did a good job in making the unrealistic seem real. The book ended without me feeling satisfied, instead, I felt as if this needs a sequel to finish it off. All in all, it was alright, but I'm not really sure who I would recommend this to.
