The Seventh Most Important Thing
By Shelley Pearsall
I really loved this book! At first, I thought it was a bit confusing as you were placed in court with the main character (Arthur Owens) Answering the judges' questions. This book starts with Arthur Owens in court, the book gives you a flashback about what he did and how he landed in Juvie. He threw a brick at a man and was sentenced to work for the man for 140 hours. The reason he threw a brick, gave me empathy for him. The book went on and I learned about what happened to Arthur Owen's life. You also saw the relationship between the man he hit and him. For all the reasons and more I loved this book! This also was a true story which makes it even better.
Backlash
By Sarah Darer Littman, Sarah Littman
This is the type of book you can re-read over and over again and it will never get boring. Sarah Darer Littman mixed how its like to be a teen with troubles and what its like to be the one causing the troubles. Its a must read!
The Burning Bridge (Ranger's Apprentice, Book 2)
By John A. Flanagan
Amazing book! This has become my favorite series of all time! (I read the first 8 books in the summer of 2017 and I LOVED them!!) Rangers are SO cool - literally, my dream job!! Book 1, 2, and 7 are my favorites so far in the series (I still haven't finished) but I really REALLY love them!* Summary: Morgarath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, formerly exiled from the Kingdom of Araluen, is ready to make his move. After Ranger Halt and his apprentice Will have defeated the Kalkara, Morgarath has nothing left than to bring his army of Wargals down from the mountains. But... How will they get across? A bridge, of course. As the army builds a bridge across the pass, from mountains to the valley, it is now Will's mission to destroy the bridge. With Halt, Horace, and a mysterious girl Evanlyn, Will must destroy the bridge to stop the Wargal army from crossing it. Can he? And can he do it alone? * This book ends in a such a surprising way I almost screamed and cried and laughed all at once. As soon as I read the last word I rushed to my bedroom and grabbed the third book and I did not put down that series until I was till Book 5...(where I took a 10 second break)... and now I'm still reading it!! I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!
The Journal of James Edmond Pease a Civil War Union Soldier (My Name is America)
By Jim Murphy
The book The Journal of James Edmond Pease is an interesting book about a distressed soldier. He is tasked by a war official to keep a journal of the war. It is filled with parts of his life in the war, a few letters romantically, and friendships in the camp. How people get promoted, and when they lose one battle only fate can decide our character's future. It is very suspenseful always having you on the edge of the seat, especially in the middle of surprise attacks. I enjoyed this book because of the adrenaline you get even if you aren't in the war. The way the author expresses the character's emotions and feelings is extremely awesome. It leaves off on a cliff hanger which I really like. There are some major unexpected reveals at the end of this magical book as well! I really suggest you read this book.
City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments)
By Cassandra Clare
After reading City Of Bones, I can't help but pick up this book and read it. I really like how the author made the realationships complicated so that conflict was happening in the book. Every chapter of the story is either exciting or heartwarming. The characters were well deleveloped during this book and everyone finally started to get along. The big change that happened in this story was shocking. I strongly recommend this book to readers who like angels and demons and all those vampire, wearwolf stuff. This series fits for both boys and girls since there is both romance and fightings in the story.
Time Castaways #1: The Mona Lisa Key
By Liesl Shurtliff
Matt, Corey, and Ruby are told never to go on public transport without their parents. Simple enough, until they are late for school and their parents have left in the middle of the night without a note. In a hurry, they race to the subway and end up getting on the wrong train. Like, really wrong. When they board, they discover that the odd subway car is actually a time-traveling, shape shifting ship. The three siblings meet an assortment of random characters aboard the ship, and travel throughout time, "saving" artifacts by stealing them, with the promise that they will be returned, safe and sound. They are told by the captain that they can return home at any time, but is he really on their side? It seems like it until some deeper secret is uncovered...
