Barbie in the Pink Shoes: Storybook and Bracelet (BOOK AND JEWELRY)

Barbie in the Pink Shoes: Storybook and Bracelet (BOOK AND JEWELRY)

By BarbieTM, Justine Fontes

I think that this book is pretty cool I would love to have pink shoes that when I put them on I go into a ballet. it's pretty cool. Now I would recommend this book for 4+ and not really sure if I'll be reading it again any time soon just because sometimes the Barbie books can be a little more for younger kids not really for my age, but I'll recommend this to 4-9

Faceless

Faceless

By Alyssa Sheinmel

I would 10/10 recommend this book for everyone! Faceless by Alyssa Sheinmel is about a girl named, Maisie who got her face burnt off on a morning jog. It started getting a little windy and dark outside because a storm was approaching. She figured she could run really fast and make it home, but that wasn't the turn out. A lightning pole caught on fire and made different parts of Maisie catch on fire. She ends up in the hospital for a few months. Will she make it? If she makes it what will people think about her, will they judge her? Will she people to talk or hear? If you want the answers to these questions, read the amazing book, Faceless by Alyssa Sheinmel! **Disclaimer** This book is in the library, but you must have permission to get it because, it is behind Ms. Custers desk!

Wink

Wink

By Rob Harrell

This book starts off strangely: a giant radioactive cancer-treating thing is aimed at Ross Maloy. It is then found out through flashbacks that he has a rare type of life-threatening cancer known as a mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the lacrimal gland, which is quite hard to spell. When school starts, however, Ross finds that, alas, everyone is painfully aware of his eye cancer, and he has to wear a hat too. A cowboy one. On Halloween, Ross finds that memes have been made. He is now known as "Cancer Cowboy". Yet to come is even worse news: Ross's best friend since 1st grade, Abby, is moving to Missouri and Ross's friend Issac is nowhere to be found. How shall Ross cope with this strange turn of events? Wink was really a book with lots of interesting characters, for example, Jimmy, the bully who is just misunderstood, and who becomes sort of Ross's friend at the end. Furthermore, it was really interesting to see how Ross coped with the challenges brought on by cancer and everything else. However, I did not like the author's use of incomplete sentences that are similar to, "Someone does something, ... Then sits down." But overall, it was a really interesting story about school and had nice drawings of Batpig and elephants and evil nachos and just a great book for people who like funny realistic fiction.

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg (Newbery Honor Book)

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg (Newbery Honor Book)

By Rodman Philbrick

I liked how I could picture the characters in my head. The author was able to give great details to the reader and it helped my imagination. The story was action-packed and very enjoyable. I listened to the audiobook while following the story in my paperback book. This made the book more exciting because the audiobook used different voices.

Family Tree Book One: Better to Wish

Family Tree Book One: Better to Wish

By Ann M. Martin

Abigail Nichols who known as just Abby. At beginning of the book, Abby is a fourth-grader along with her best friend, Sarah Moreside, and her another friend, Orrin Umhay in Lewisport. Her sisters, Rose, Fred, and Adele, along with Mama (Nell) and Pop (Luther). But Pop is not nice father to his kids and his wife. Pop has even forbad Abby to be with Orrin and Marie. In few chapters later, when Abby and her family has moved to Bargent Point (sorry if I has spelt this wrong) and met her future husband, Zander Burley, who was a Army soldier along with Richard, and former high-school/college student when Zander has married Abby in the ending. And shortly after, Mama became so sick since that Pop has sent Fred, who is a crippled boy to the special school just for the crippled kids/adults, probably just about few weeks later, Mama dies. Later in the book, when Abby was just now in the high school, she met two girls, Maureen and Darcy, and she also met; Wyman, Richard, and Helen March. In the nearly ending of the book, Helen married Abby`s father, and became her stepmom. Would recommend this book! - Happy Reading!

Making Bombs for Hitler

Making Bombs for Hitler

By Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch

''Lida thought she was safe.''- This book is so emotional! The fact that the author had asked someone to tell them about their story, their story about getting captured by Hitler and basing it off of a book, is incredible. Lida has been captured by the Nazi and separated from her sister Larissa. Now she has been taken to a camp with other kids like her. When they get there, children under 12 are separated in one group, and over 12 in another. An older kid told her to lie to them about your age, say you're older. They say if you're older, you're useful. And how she knows this? This isn't the first time she was captured by the Nazi. But when Lida's friend gets an idea to sabotage the bombs they are assigned to make, it may work. They tell them they are watched all times. But they can carry dirt and dump it into the bombs. The idea actually works. Soon Lida and her friends who survived get rescued by the American army. But what about Larissa? Fortunately, Lida gets a letter from her sister saying she got rescued and is in Canada! This book was so detailed and I would definitely give it a 5/5 rating. I recommend this to people interested in the Nazi and Adolf Hitler.
